New #JITC article: "Stereotactic body radiation therapy enriches mediators of humoral immune activity in metastatic renal cell carcinoma" doi.org/10.1136/jitc-2026-01…
Great to see this fun side project from my 3rd year of med school @Jacobs_Med_UB @RoswellPark published in @jitcancer with #JasonMuhitch, #AnuragSingh, @waraonc23, etc, exploring impacts of SBRT on humoral immunity in mRCC:

While CYTOSHRINK did not demonstrate PFS benefit, we hypothesize that the sub-ablative dosing and treatment sequence (XRT after ICB induction) may have affected the outcome. Suffice it to say - we eagerly await SAMURAI @DrRanaMcKay!

A huge thank you to the #MuhitchLab, @RoswellPark #RadiationMedicine/#Urology, great collaborators, and most importantly, the selfless patients who took part in this study! Stay tuned for more work on B cells in RCC from us and @ZacharyYoc39102, @ZaydTippu, + many others!
End.

The progress we've made didn't happen by accident. It was made possible by researchers pursuing new discoveries, patients participating in research, and advocates making sure #KidneyCancer remains part of the conversation in Washington.
That's why we're speaking up during KidneyCAN Advocacy Days, and why our advocacy continues long after these meetings are over.
Join our advocacy community and help us keep pushing for progress in kidney cancer research.

Our Virtual Advocacy Day is underway!
Today, #KidneyCancer advocates are connecting with congressional offices virtually to share their stories and speak up for the needs of patients, caregivers, and families affected by kidney cancer.

Thanks for the invitation to talk to friends (both new and old) about humoral immunity in kidney cancer! Stay tuned for emerging stories from our group @RoswellPark on the role B cells play in ICI sensitivity and how we can reshape the RCC TME to better respond.
What a treat to have the inimitable @NickSalgia deliver a seminar today at @cityofhope! Now nearing completion of his MD/PhD at @RoswellPark, he continues to deliver to our group incredible genomic insights in #kidneycancer. Residency programs, look out for this star next year!

Dug deep for my first photo w @NickSalgia @RoswellPark when he joined my @cityofhope team back in 2019 👇 Here we all are at @ASCO #GU19 posing w #oncocelebrity @tompowles1. Nick is now in the midst of his MD/PhD & just published a brilliant paper in @Cancer_Cell (see #Tweetorial below) which helps define #kidneycancer susceptibility to #immunotherapy. He still joins my weekly research meeting on Wednesdays nights, despite being in a time zone 3h past my own.
Proud to see your hard work & dedication pay off, Nick! Keep it up!
Excited to share the bulk of my thesis work available online today @CancerCell. We sought to dive into the tumor microenvironment of sarcomatoid renal cell carcinomas to better understand what makes RCC tumors susceptible to immunotherapy: sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

Excellent work from @NickSalgia and team in @Cancer_Cell !
Replying to @NickSalgia
Sarcomatoid RCC is a rare kidney cancer that is hyper-aggressive yet preferentially responsive to checkpoint blockade. We performed scRNAseq, spectral flow cytometry, and spatial transcriptomics on human sRCCs and ccRCCs, with validation by RNAseq of >3,000 RCC tumors. 2/n

Why do some aggressive kidney cancers respond to immunotherapy while others don’t?
A new Roswell Park-led study in Cancer Cell reveals why, and introduces a tool to guide treatment.

Thanks to the amazing editorial team @CancerCell and most importantly, thank you to the patients and their families who donated samples and time with the shared intent of improving the lives of those diagnosed with kidney cancer worldwide @kidneycan @KidneyCancer @IKCCorg 11/n
Ok that’s it. Hope you enjoy the paper and please wish me luck on my OBGYN shelf exam tomorrow (I’m going to need a lot of luck at this point!) 12/12.
