APPEAL: Will you hold Troy’s paw through his cancer battle? 💔 Troy was rescued from the streets of Penang Island to be neutered through IAPWA Penang's TNR efforts. But when our team examined him, they discovered something that changed everything. Troy has TVT (transmissible venereal tumour), a form of cancer that can be devastating without treatment. Instead of returning to his community, Troy is now fighting for his life 💔 He has started chemotherapy with our team, a treatment course that can take several months but has a very good success rate. We have successfully treated hundreds of dogs with TVT, and we are desperately hoping that Troy will be one of them. But right now, Troy is very, very sick. On top of his cancer, he is suffering from a kidney condition. He is refusing to eat, is severely dehydrated and remains incredibly weak. Our veterinary team are monitoring him closely and doing everything they can to support him through this incredibly difficult time. Troy has already fought so hard. Now he needs us to fight alongside him. His chemotherapy and ongoing veterinary care will come at a significant cost, but we cannot give up on him. SASSY UPDATE 🐶✨ We're delighted to share that long-term IAPWA Penang resident Sassy is doing well following the dental treatment she so desperately needed. Earlier this month, Sassy was found suffering from a severe gum infection that left her face painfully swollen and significantly affected her health and wellbeing. Thankfully, after a course of antibiotics, the swelling reduced enough for her to undergo the dental procedure she urgently needed. Sassy has now successfully undergone a full dental scale and several tooth extractions to remove damaged teeth and relieve her pain. She is recovering well and already seems much brighter, happier and more comfortable. A huge thank you to everyone who supported Sassy's appeal and helped make this treatment possible. Your kindness ensured she received the urgent veterinary care she needed, giving her relief from pain and the chance to enjoy a much better quality of life. Malindo finds her forever home after 5 years of waiting 🏡💛 For more than five years, sweet Malindo waited patiently at the IAPWA Penang centre for someone to see the incredible dog she truly was. She greeted every visitor with a happy tail wag, a big smile and all the love she had to give, but time and time again, she was overlooked simply because she was no longer a puppy. Then came the day everything changed ✨ A couple walked through the gates with hearts still healing after losing their beloved senior dogs. They weren’t looking for the youngest dog or the easiest choice. They were looking for a gentle soul who needed them just as much as they needed her. And they found Malindo! After years of watching the world go by from her kennel, Malindo finally began a brand new chapter. The world outside is still unfamiliar and a little overwhelming, but with patience, kindness and a family who adores her, Malindo is learning the most important thing of all... Cooper's Happily Ever After 🏡🐾 Do you remember Cooper? He was rescued alongside twelve other poodles by our IAPWA Penang team in a truly heartbreaking condition. His coat was severely matted and soiled, his skin was painfully inflamed, his ears were infected, and his tiny body was also fighting tick fever. Like his friends, he had endured so much that his spark had almost disappeared 💔 Our team on Penang Island worked tirelessly to give Cooper and his friends the medical care, patience, and love they needed to begin their recovery. Then something wonderful happened ✨ Cooper found a family who looked beyond his condition. They didn't choose the youngest, healthiest, or most energetic dog. They chose the one who had been neglected and needed them most. They saw the wonderful little dog waiting beneath the pain. Fast forward nine months, and Cooper is almost unrecognisable. This cheeky little fluffball is finally living the life he always deserved, full of confidence, joy, and mischief, with the brightest sparkle in his eyes. Cooper's story is a beautiful reminder that adoption isn't about finding the perfect dog. It's about giving a dog in need the chance to be loved, to heal, and to begin a whole new chapter.
