My quick reading of today’s Callais decision is that it’s actually much -worse- than some of the initial analysis makes it sound. 1/

But now the TN legislature could just say their goal is to draw 9 Republican districts, and a VRA claim could only succeed is if a map could be drawns with a black-influence district -that also drew 9 Republican districts-

This is just based on my quick read of this, so I might be missing something, but I don’t see how any VRA districts in heavily Republican states would still be required

Virginia doesn’t need to redistrict. If 2026 looks like 2025, Dems could win a 9-2 majority on the current map

One of the coolest WaPo digital articles I’ve seen. Every pick includes both a video of theme and a 1-minute music theory video of the article’s author analyzing it on piano.

I cashed in both my first two WSOP events this year! Pretty close to a final table today. But poker tournaments always go well until they don’t. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Maybe Harris should just call Trump’s bluff and agree to a FoxNews debate? As long as the moderators are chosen from the news division and not commentary, they wouldn’t be -that- biased against her, and it’s not like they’re going to magically make Trump more disciplined.

Very personally specific trivia: Tim Walz has now replaced Paul Rudd as the most famous living person who shares my birthday. He’s exactly 15 years older than me, and exactly 5 years older than Rudd.

Am I correct than JD Vance is the first major party Pres or VP nominee in over a century with a beard?

I see a few mustaches (notably Dewey in 44/48), but no full beards since Charles Evans Hughes in 1916.

Shouldn’t MLB #ASG selections factor in performance from the 2nd half of last season? It’s always seemed strange/unfair to me that only the 1st half of any season matters for these honors.
