I texted my children that we got the puppy they’ve been begging me for and sent them a link with pictures. 🐶When they clicked on the link, it took them to a webpage that said YOU’RE GROUNDED. They’ll be spending the weekend retaking our family’s cybersecurity training course.

A New Jersey-based fan named Rev Ciancio visited 77 different ballparks this season. At each one, he would get a hot dog with mustard, eat it after “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” and grade it. Here are his top 10: 10. Joliet Slammers (National Association of Professional Baseball): A “rock solid” offering. 9. Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (Triple-A PHI): “Exactly what a ballpark hot dog is supposed to taste like.” 8. Sussex County Miners (National Association of Professional Baseball): “They’re the only team that I’ve been to that has a ripper, where they’re actually deep-frying the hot dog.” 7. Albuquerque Isotopes (Triple-A COL): “It’s almost foul to highlight how good the hot dog was because there’s so much good there.” 6. Boston Red Sox: “This is one of the Major League stadiums where the lore of the hot dog holds true.” 5. Richmond Flying Squirrels (Double-A SF): “It was just a well-rounded hot dog. Like there was magic and you don’t know why.” 4. Brooklyn Cyclones (High-A NYM): “It’s part of their culture to have a good hot dog.” 3. Chicago Cubs: “I feel like Chicago teams have a right and a duty to produce good hot dogs.” 2. Chicago Dogs (American Association): The poppyseed bun was an “ingredient difference maker.” 1. Reading Fightin Phils (Double-A Phillies): “When you eat a hot dog at Reading, it’s as though every single hot dog was individually cooked. One person took one hot dog and made sure it was perfect.” Read about Ray here: atmlb.com/4sjmoGx

me when I get a free World Series ticket but the news wasn’t in a letter that was individually written by Pat Murphy, hand delivered by Bernie Brewer, and signed by every player to ever go through our organization
🚨Very low effort offer and apology from @Brewers. They couldn’t even bother to address us by our names. “Dear Timeless Ticket Holder”. 🤦‍♂️ From the @Brewers general ticketing email account and not Rick’s personal email. His name is on the bottom sign off tho. It is a step in the right direction , but we are not pleased and still have questions/concerns. They need to open up an actual dialogue with us‼️ Finally another development that makes this worse. Rumor is that they never got to the full 1000 tickets sold. They only sold about 450 tickets before they discontinued it. A person in my group was 443 and bought in January 2019 shortly before they discontinued the sale of the ticket. So it’s even more embarrassing that they can’t accommodate even fewer of us than originally believed. ℹ️@dfoch23

Adam Jones reveals the blunt message Buck Showalter gave him after his first bad effort play about being who you say you are and the little things becoming the big things “There’s two instances. It’s third day there. I hit a bullet ground ball to the third baseman. You’re watching a double play get turned right in front of you, but the first baseman happened to drop the ball.” “Does it ever look good when you’re halfway through it and you know you ain’t running hard? Never does. You’re still out, but it never looks good.” “So after the game, he brings me in and says, ‘Hey, I heard you’re supposed to be the star here. Bleepin act like it.’ I’m like, ‘All right.’” “It was just an extra incentive like, hey, we’re always watching. The fans are always watching. People are always watching. You’re an example. Show it. Go out there and really play as hard as you can.” “He was so anal about being fundamentally sound. When the outfield misses a cut, it’s two bases. When the infield does, it’s one.” “Defense was our strong suit. We played phenomenal defense and it was an attitude every single day, because you’re not going to hit every day.” “But you can play defense every day. You can run the bases hard every day. You can do the intangibles every single day. And that’s what Buck was always paying attention to.”

This is what turning back the clock 40 years would mean for the global economy. JD Vance wants you (and everyone else) to be poorer. Much much poorer!

So Pete Alonso finishes as the AL leader in both homers (43) and RBIs (113). He becomes first-ever MLB player to lead the AL and NL in separate years of course, in RBIs. His second HR title (led NL with 53 in 2019). His 149 OPS+ this year was a career-best.

Only 2 players in Orioles history (since 1954) have led AL in both home runs and RBIs in same season: Frank Robinson in 1966 -- 49 HRs, 122 RBIs (Triple Crown) Chris Davis in 2013 -- 53 HRs, 138 RBIs Pete Alonso has the chance to become the 3rd this year (42 HRs, 112 RBIs).

Best comebacks in sports history: • Red Sox 2004 ALCS • Patriots 28-3 vs. Falcons in Super Bowl • Cavaliers down 3-1 vs. Warriors • Mustard from 0-27 start to title
Do you believe in miracles? Yes! Mustard lost the first 27 hot dog races of the season. All hope was lost. He was demoted to Double-A. But Mustard never gave up. He won 29 of the final 54 races, including tonight’s, to take home the title. #JusticeforMustard

Pete Alonso on why he did this: "The people who have supported us, it’s not what they expected or wanted either. For people to still show up, come out to a doubleheader today, and really just show the true support, it’s special, and that should be recognized."
The Orioles were waving to the crowd after their last home game from in front of the dugout. Then Pete Alonso waved everyone onto the field, lifted his cap and said thanks to Baltimore

Working on a story to find the losses that cost the Orioles a playoff spot. I went through every loss to find games they either should have won or ones in which they made a major blunder that cost them the game. The goal was to find 10 games. I found 22.

Let me tell you what kind of guy Pete Alonso is. We got to meet him last night. My wife starts telling him about her mom - 85 years old, just got out of the hospital, still keeps a scorecard. Biggest Orioles fan you will ever meet. When you call her, she doesn’t have time. “What do you want, Michelle? I’m watching the Orioles. So Pete says can I send her a message. Can I use your phone?” Of course he could. That’s the Polar Bear. Home runs are one thing. This is why people love him.

🇺🇸 The Flags on the Jet Bridges American 11 left Logan from Gate B32. United 175 left from Gate C19. Both were bound for Los Angeles. Both were flown into the towers. About a month later the airlines put American flags on those jet bridges. Short poles. Outside. Easy to miss if you are not looking. Those flags are still there 25 years later. People walk that same stretch every day and roll bags down the same ramps. Most never notice the flags. Ground crews do. If one is torn they replace it. New handlers ask what the flag is for and get the story. B32 and C19.
