This is how ethnic cleansing always starts. You have to delegitimize the ethnic minority's claims to equal rights.

Israel’s operation in Hebron has forced over 2,000 Palestinians from their homes. Collective punishment is a grave violation of international law, and threats to empty and erase entire neighbourhoods raise serious concerns about ethnic cleansing.

“Years do odd things to identity.” A poem by Ursula K. Le Guin.

ALT Leaves BY URSULA K. LE GUIN Years do odd things to identity. What does it mean to say I am that child in the photograph at Kishamish in 1935? Might as well say I am the shadow of a leaf of the acacia tree felled seventy years ago moving on the page the child reads. Might as well say I am the words she read or the words I wrote in other years, flicker of shade and sunlight as the wind moves through the leaves.

Let us continue to pray together for peace. The day after tomorrow, on 27 October, let us join in spirit with the heads of churches and religious leaders who will gather in Assisi to mark the 40th anniversary of the meeting convened by Saint John Paul II. Never before has it been so clear that wars, as well as sowing death and destruction, impoverish and harm the world. May the Lord inspire choices of dialogue and peace! #PrayTogether
Pope Leo: "War can never be waged in the name of God. For us believers, to fight in the name of religion means attacking religion itself. There is no such thing as a holy war: only peace is holy." vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/…

This is quite something ! Serbian RTV channel starts yesterday's bulletin by apologizing to viewers👇
"For years, we failed to fulfill our duty. We kept silent, turned a blind eye, reported events one-sidedly and failed to ask necessary questions. We owe our viewers an apology”

This “Palestinians are not a people” hasbara is worse than moronic, it’s evil.
It doesn’t matter if Palestinian was a distinct identity historically. What matters is there were specific people with specific property on specific land who were wrongfully dispossessed of it.
Their argument is like saying “Californians were never historically a people, they are just a subset of North Americans. Therefore, it’s acceptable to take their land and homes, expel them to Canada, and never let them return.”
Palestinianism is not an ethnicity. It is an invented subset of Arabism, which can be hardly separated from Islam. This means the Arab Muslim ethnicity, with its vast population and land, can make room for 8 million Israeli Jews, concede some land for them to be sovereign. This is especially needed because Arabs/Muslims have proven their inability to treat non-Arabs and non-Muslims as their equals. Not only Jews should get their sovereign state, but also Druze, Christians, Kurds, Alawites. It’s a matter of preserving diversity, which is impossible under Arab/Muslim sovereignty.

The Israeli army prevented Palestinians from harvesting olives on their land in the village of Turmus Ayya in the West Bank.
A Palestinian American holds up his passport and tells the soldiers he is an American citizen, but they prevent him from harvesting his land too.
Meanwhile, the soldiers allow Israeli settlers to steal the olives.

Deservedly scathing op-ed by the NYT:
“If Democrats retake both houses of Congress, and more state governments than they now control, it will tell the world that Mr. Trump does not represent most Americans. It will demonstrate that a country that starts to slide toward autocracy can move back to normalcy, as happened in Hungary this spring. Most important, it will create a desperately needed check on Mr. Trump during his final two years in office.
…
In a 21-month span, he has done more harm to democracy and the rule of law than any other president in the modern era and perhaps longer than that. He has broken his oath to defend the Constitution by trying to rewrite it on his own. He has refused to honor Congress’s power of the purse and misused national security laws for political ends. He has defied federal court orders on Medicaid funding, deportation orders and more. He has dismantled the Justice Department’s legacy as an impartial enforcer of federal law, turning it into an instrument of retribution against his adversaries while canceling investigations into his allies. He has appointed inept sycophants to oversee crucial government functions, including law enforcement, national defense and public health. He has sought to disenfranchise large numbers of voters, claiming fraud that cannot be found, and championed an extreme new approach to partisan gerrymandering. He has physically besmirched the White House by demolishing the East Wing and financing a garish renovation with donations from wealthy allies.”

They invented algebra, trigonometry, and Arabic numerals. They have and continue to produce world-famous literature. They made monumental contributions to medicine and surgery. And yes, an Arab person has won the Nobel Prize several times.

RFK: “There's 500 million Arabs in the world, and yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don’t produce literature.”
Every aspect of that statement (save Fields) is absolutely false.

A chilling, dystopian documentary that I strongly recommend seeing in cinemas or watching when it becomes available online for free next month.

Charles Kushner, a New Jersey real-estate developer and the father of Trump’s son-in-law Jared, became the U.S. Ambassador to France in 2025. Introducing himself to the French public in a social-media video, he said that he knew “a limited amount about France.” He does not speak French; he has never lived abroad. He served time in federal prison for illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering. The last crime, a blackmail scheme that involved hiring a prostitute to seduce his sister’s husband, suggests a dubious approach to conflict management. Yet Trump saw fit to hand him one of the most coveted posts in American diplomacy, the seat once held by Thomas Jefferson and by Benjamin Franklin, stewarding the relationship with America’s oldest ally.
Since taking up his post, Kushner has earned a reputation for meddling in domestic French politics at sensitive moments. “I don’t see how he can possibly affect the opinions of the French government by regularly irritating them,” the president of the American Academy of Diplomacy said. Lauren Collins reports on Charles Kushner’s Ambassadorship and a new cohort of MAGA diplomats who are underqualified for their posts and overeager to impress the boss back in Washington: newyorker.com/magazine/2026/…

Srinivasan Muralidhar - Chair of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and in Israel: "States must not render any form of political, military, economic or financial aid or assistance or cooperation in maintaining Israel’s unlawful occupation and its settlements. Member States must employ all means available to them to prevent and punish the crime of genocide. Finally, States should cooperate with and support the International Criminal Court, particularly amidst the recent sanctions levied by the United States against the Court and its officials. Finally, I deeply regret having to address the Members of the 3rd Committee by video and not being physically present in the room with you. Regrettably, I have not received a visa despite my best efforts to secure one. As a result, the voices of the victims and witnesses which form the basis of the Commission’s findings are reduced to mere electronic transmissions rather than through personal engagement."
