We're really not against Tory Leaders appearing on Gogglebox...
BREAKING A political row has broken out over Andy Burnham's decision to go on Channel 4ās programme āGoggleboxā.
A Conservative source tells me that Kemi Badenoch should be invited on to the show. One says: "It's Channel 4's job to ensure political balance."
Nigel Farage appeared on Gogglebox when he was leader of the UK Independence Party in December 2014. A spokesman for Reform UK says: "Nigel has done it before and would happily do it again."

This Labour governmentās transformative Rentersā Rights Act empowers private renters to challenge unreasonable rent increases.
If a tenant believes a proposed rent increase is above the open-market rent, they can refer the matter to the First-tier Tribunal.
In a recent case in Manchester where the Landlord proposed an increase in rent from £1,650 per calendar month to £1,700, the Tribunal determined the open market rent was actually £1,450 per calendar month.
Weāre standing up for renters and our reforms are working.

Reform-run @Derbyshirecc have banned Local Democracy Reporter @EddieBisk.
Their central claim is that Eddie only gave them four hours to respond to his request for comment after a critical court judgement.
This is completely untrue, as the screenshot below shows.
Replying to @reformparty_uk
@reformparty_uk at @Derbyshirecc has decided to ban one of the Local Democracy Reporters at @derbyshire_live, @EddieBisk.
Needless to say we stand utterly opposed to the false accusations made about our editorial standards and urge the council to reconsider immediately.

Absolutely disgraceful yet again. Reform claim to be for free speech but they consistently attack this vital pillar of our democracy. Shameful
Itās happening again.
After the unmitigated success of the ban issued by Nottinghamshireās Reform UK administration against the Nottingham Post, those running Derbyshire seem to have been inspired.
They have banned @EddieBisk. It wonāt end well for them.

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we remember the nearly 3,000 people who were killed, including 67 Britons.
My thoughts are with all those who lost friends and family members that terrible day. Time may pass, but I know the grief is still felt just as deeply today.
On this anniversary, we must remember that hatred and fear did not have the last word on 9/11. The terrorists sought to weaken and divide America, and everyone who believes in the values our countries share.
But our response was clear: those who seek to destroy our way of life will never win.
I saw that same defiance in Greater Manchester. When I was Mayor, Manchester was the victim of two horrific terrorist attacks. I will never forget the messages of support and friendship from people across America who knew better than anyone the suffering of our city.
Some of the children of those killed in the 9/11 attacks wrote to the families of the people killed in Manchester, and they said this: We are you and you are us. We are one.
We will never forget these terrible events, but we refuse to be defined by them. Terror still knocks on the door of democracy, but the United Kingdom and the United States stand together in memory of those we lost, and in defence of the values we cherish.
We are you and you are us. And we will prevail.
