I’ve been suspended at work since July following an anonymous grievance (not anonymous as the company accidentally revealed who it was) that said: “Sophie’s views are much more extreme than the perspectives of someone I’d feel comfortable working with.”
My employer refused to obtain witness accounts I believe are essential to my defence and refused permission for me to contact colleagues to obtain them. I’m pursuing legal action.
I also reported that my manager said he didn’t want to hire white people because they were “lazy”. Both white managers at our workplace were suspended at the same time (me being one of them) I’m deeply concerned about how this has been handled.
With finding work already so difficult for young people, this has been incredibly hard. I don’t believe I should be facing this. If anyone has advice, or a shoulder to cry on, I’d really appreciate it.

Job opportunity: I'm looking for a Manchester based cat to join the Chief Mouser department. Must be good at catching mice but not good at getting attention on social media (that's covered)

New PM Andy Burnham declares today as the "best day of my life", as he opens new No. 10 North and emphasises he wants to get "the whole country facing the same way".

In the light of recent developments, it is with some sadness that I'm announcing that I shall not be posting here in the future. I have been putting off this decision ever since we lost our friendly little bird and the name changed from Twitter to the sinister X.
"One equal music": my setting of words by John Donne, dedicated to the memory of a very special woman.

It's publication day for 'These Years: 1973'! A touching account of one girl starting her journey into adolescence, by the author of 'Still Crazy...' and 'After All...' Congratulations @rnfskinner 🎉
Have been enjoying a wonderful few days here with the lovely Mrs W. So much to see and do. We could be here for a year and still not see everything.
