Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. Lately, I have been pondering on this verse. Jesus, on the Mount of Beatitudes teaching His disciples, says I am not come to destroy but to fulfil. Note that the word law is singular here. I know we refer to the Mosaic Law as being the Law, even though there are some 613 commandments handed down by Moses. Then again, there are ten commandments handed down by God to man. All of these laws were inspired by God for man to govern his social, economic, dietary, and spiritual life by. True enough, we struggle with the 10 commandments, much less the 613 laws Moses handed down. Jesus said I come not to destroy the law but to fulfil it. In James 1:25, the writer introduces us to the perfect law of liberty. In John 13:34-35, Jesus gives just one, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” Matthew 22:36-40 says, “Master, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Jesus said I came to fulfil, not enforce. I wonder what could happen in our world if we could learn to fulfil this one thing called love that all the law and prophets hang on. Could the problem in our world today be we have toomany enforcers instead of fulfillers? Our prayer for you this week: May you come to understand the power of being a fulfiller.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.   A couple of words catch my attention here in this verse. Prepared, made ready, made fit, suitable, ready. Do you realize God has made things fit, suitable, and ready for those that love Him? Too many times, we act as if these are things waiting on us in the hereafter, but Paul declares they are prepared for them that love Him. Here is a question for you. Do you love Him? Are you a believer? Are you a born again, blood bought believer? Are you a born again, blood bought, spirit filled believer? If so, then why should we have to wait until the hereafter to find out what those things are? Jerimiah 29:11 says He has good plans for you. Psalms 31:19 says He has great goodness laid up for those who fear Him. Isaiah 40:29 says,  “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” In Isaiah 40:31 it talks of renewed strength and wings like an eagle. The ability to rise above a situation is already prepared for you. Here is one more for you, though the list could go on. Romans 9:23, says “And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory.” Oh, the riches of His glory He has waiting for those that love Him! I will let your mind continue the journey. It is true, eyehath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart/mind of man, just how powerful the things are that God has made ready, fit, and suitable for the believer who really trusts Him. What is it you need prepared for you this week? God’s got it. Our prayer for you this week: May you experience the things God has prepared for those that love Him.

Proverbs 12:25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.   It’s amazing how life happens. One moment you are on cloud nine, the next you are in the cellar. Struggles are real, and often times they completely shatter, break, splinter, or fragment your dreams. In one single instance everything can change. One word, report, conversation, or statement can change your mindset.     Now, your mindset, outlook, concepts, and visions take on a whole different look. What looked so attainable, doable, reachable, and believable no longer seems achievable, or even perceivable. It is no wonder the scripture said in Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”   Your mindset really does matter. Norman Vincent Peale said, “A peaceful mind generates power.” This is so true. Even though life has happened, you have to change your heart/mindset. “Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.” Just one word can change your posture in life. To change your posture you must change your conversation. Ephesians 4:22-24 gives us some incredible insight. “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Yes, changing your conversation can take you from stooping to standing. Is it any wonder the word of God taught us how to change our conversation and bring power and peace to our heart? Romans 4:17 declares God Himself calleth those things which be not as though they were. So, this week take a load off your heart/mind, bring peace and power into your spiritual processor. Call those things that are not as though they are.     Our prayer for you this week: May you learn how to go from stooping to standing.
