This summer peaceful protesters demanding racial justice were tear gased and arrested.
Today, a seditious mob stormed the Capitol and then was allowed to leave.
The difference is skin color.

A Black and Indian American woman named Kamala will be our Vice President. We are the first generation of Americans who will be able to respectfully say Madam Vice President.
Now let’s be the first generation of Americans to root out sexism and racism.
First time I’ve ever been happy to wait in line. #Elections2020 #GoVote
Quick reminder - our founders were influenced by the Enlightenment period where dialogue and the rational questioning of ideas were valued. They later fought for this right. If you want to teach about American democracy, teach our students to think critically. #civiceducation
Problem: It’s snowing and our windows have to remain open.
Solution: Teach in our winter jackets and have sporadic snowball fights!

It was great to see students and the community supporting women’s rights and equality for all at the Women’s March today. Proud of our Arlington youth. #WomensMarch2020
Connected with @walthamlibrary and @RobbinsLib to provide our 8th graders with some civic action experience today. This is what our students want voters to consider on election day. #forfreedom #civiceducation #YouthSpeak

All right, let's try something new. If you’re in the United States, send me a text at 773-365-9687 — I want to hear how you're doing, what's on your mind, and how you're planning on voting this year.
I'll be in touch from time to time to share what's on my mind, too.

Check out this fantastic Social Studies resource! 🌏✨
Made a @peardeck version of the graphic organizers I shared earlier.
Add them into your Social Studies lectures to check for understanding.
Drawing Slides = easy for students to add text boxes. You will need the upgraded version of Peardeck. #sschat

After six months of non-use, I finally got into my classroom to start cleaning and setting up for the new year. Turns out soap and water kills germs and all the random scuff marks on the walls! Good bye layers of dust and hello Air Learning Community students!
Winter is in the air and so are conferences! Air Learning Community looking forward to meeting with the parents and guardians coming in tonight to talk about their students progress this year. #airlc #middleschool #teaching #bulletinboardidea
