The RCPCH guidelines for managing hypoglycaemia has changed, with lower blood sugars now accepted. In neonates, 2.6 is now nothing to be panicking over. Wonder if this will make any difference to the ‘insulin poisoning’ cases that Lucy Letby was charged with with…

The infamous “Lucy_Letby present” chart was plastered all over, but was a timeline of waste water incidents with neonatal collapses ever drawn & presented?
Such a timeline (+/- plumber attend) might have determined other poss links.
Also, the RCPCH report was vital to defend LL.

Although the article focuses on racism, it falls within the subset of institutional failings, incl training standards that fail resident drs. I seem to remember that trainees were removed from this ward.

Scapegoating and prosecuting innocent nurses for hospital failings followed by a charade of an inquiry pretending otherwise will do nothing to improve patient safety. The nursing profession needs to know what happened to Letby will never happen again!

The Thirlwall Inquiry was set up to examine events at the Countess of Chester Hospital, following on from the conviction of Lucy Letby.
Its terms of reference are built on the assumption of Lucy Letby's guilt. Today, I held an Adjournment Debate on why the Inquiry should have its terms of reference widened to recognise the multiple failings at the hospital.

Did you know that FitnesstoPractice referrals to the Nursing & Midwifery Council have risen by 10-15%? It means that more nurses and midwives are being possibly scapegoated following the LucyLetby and Midwifery care scandals.

When we went public, we braced for hostility.
We got some. We expected that.
What we didn't expect was the of messages from NHS front line staff. Nurses. Doctors. Paramedics. Nearly all saying the same thing.
Thank you for speaking up. We can't.
The people inside the building, thanking a family on the outside.
That's backwards. And everybody knows it.
