On the eternal mission to identify genes underlying GWAS signals, FLAMES is a new approach🔥
👉FLAMES is an XGBoost model trained on a set of loci where the "causal gene" is labelled based on rare missense/pLoF variant associations within the same gene from ExWAS analyses.

🔬 Exciting science news! The Space Omics and Medical Atlas (SOMA) has just been released, representing the largest-ever compendium of data (44 papers-worth) for aerospace medicine and space biology. 🌌🧬
🌟 Over 100 institutions from more than 25 countries collaborated on this groundbreaking project. It includes molecular, cellular, physiological, phenotypic, and spaceflight data. Notably, it features samples from the first all-civilian crew of the Inspiration4 mission, who ventured to a high-altitude orbit farther than the International Space Station (ISS). 🛰️
The Schisler Lab is proud to be a part of the second space age!
🌐 Embracing the spirit of Open Science, all raw and processed data from the crew are available in NASA’s Open Science Data Repository. This wealth of information will guide future missions and countermeasure development. 🌐
