Nothing is more frustrating than a mobile provider that doesn't deliver where you live or work.
That’s why, for 14 years, we've been reporting the definitive ranking of wireless carriers nationwide, by state, and by major metro area. If you're shopping for a new provider in 2026, our list is your best starting point ➡️ pcmag.com/articles/the-best-…

Signal Mapping is here! 🎉
Android users can now opt-in to passively log signal strength data as they move throughout the day.
And everyone can now see the crowdsourced map of signal data!

Really excited to open source access to our Speed Testing network to allow anyone to build their own speed testing applications, while also contributing to our crowdsourced maps and datasets 😊
🚀 We just open-sourced @coveragemap/speed-test - a free TypeScript client library for running internet speed tests powered by CoverageMap's own infrastructure, protocol, and global server network!
Drop it into any app, browser, or project.

If you’ve ever wondered how cellular networks really perform where you live, how crowdsourced data can challenge official coverage claims, and what it takes to build a platform that helps people make smarter connectivity decisions, this episode is for you.
Big thanks to @stetsondoggett & Trevor for taking the time to talk about what they're building at @CoverageMapLLC

One of the coolest projects I've seen in recent times has been @CoverageMapLLC's app and map! Not only is it super cool, but.. I've contributed! Both as a speed tester, and now, as of this evening we are also hosting a test server in our data center! This is a 100gb capable server with dual 100gb upstream connections! So next time you load the app and see Altoona PA, you'll know exactly where the test is going!! @stetsondoggett @No1mann @SneedTech @jakepimental99 @maxhietpas_ @RLV_TECH_USA @mobowhunting96 @Flyordie209 @Techlife32

Jingle Jam 2025 is over and our Games Collection is no longer available. What a year—thank you!
However, Trust in Rust continues through Dec. 18th! Until then, you can still donate to their campaign or purchase their Rust skins with all proceeds going to Jingle Jam charities.

ALT Jingle Jam graphic on blue snowflake background. Text reads: 'No longer available', '2025 Games Collection', 'Final total calculating...', '1000+ fundraisers', '70,000+ donations', '7 million viewers across 14400+ hours of livestreamed content', '£30 million+ raised since inception, supporting 50 charities.'

We’ve just raised £3,000,000 for our partnered charities. You’re aiding causes across the world: helping combat climate change, supporting mental health, children affected by conflict and LGBTQ+ young people, and so much more.
To all our fundraisers and supporters - THANK YOU!

That's £1,000,000 raised - for CALM, The Trevor Project, Autistica, WWF, Make-A-Wish, The Grand Appeal, Become, and War Child. And that's all thanks to you!
These funds will make an incredible difference to so many around the world. From all of us at the Jingle Jam: thank you!

In under four hours, you've already raised £500,000 for charity. Half a million pounds, going to eight extraordinary causes, all making the world a better place. Thank you so much!
The new speed test tiling system is live on map.coveragemap.com!
This includes faster tile loading, new date filter, and better scalability (more information to come on this👀). All this will still being nearly real-time.

Here is a timely real-world example of the power of using the right tool for the right job
teapawt.net/no1mann/status/1987744…? There are 1000s of such stories. Appreciate you sharing the experience @No1mann 🙌 🙏
Been slowly migrating our map tiling service from Postgis to @ClickHouseDB and it's been quite amazing.
Faster querying, more complicated filtering (date filter coming soon👀), better scaling, over 10x decrease in storage, and still real time!
Will release in the coming weeks.

Wouldn't it be great if you could access your speed test history in the CoverageMap app without being signed in to an account? 👀
Coming soon™️
Been working on a website to browse all IPv4 ranges and see who owns them in a cool, scrollable way.
Is it pointless? Absolutely.
Is it cool? Hell yes!
I'll probably release this soon, idk when.
