I’m an @officiallydale fan and I want my say on the FA Cup replays.
So the @ChampionsLeague is having a revamp and expanding so other huge worldwide clubs (with money) can compete (nothing to do with the FA I know) but @EmiratesFACup are scrapping replays that us lower league clubs rely on to survive because these same clubs are moaning about fixture congestion.
Make that make sense.
Yes the ‘big clubs’ brings money in I get that. But we need it to survive, to pay bills, to pay staff.
Fixture congestion excuse too is just stupid. Because lower league teams -
- Have more league games.
- Play qualifiers for FA Cups and then the 1st and second round.
- EFL (Carabao Cup)
- Bristol Motors Trophy
- FA Trophy
- We also have internationals that play in the lower football pyramid.
All of this without the luxuries of extreme finances, academies, big squad depth.
It’s so unfair and us fans/players/managers/staff also deserve these fantastic memories and occasions.
My club almost went in to liquidation this season and it is still a possibility if the takeover doesn’t go through (luckily it’s looking promising 🤞🏻), I’ve seen other clubs liquidate, go into administration too and it’s so sad that nobody at the top are backing the people that need it the most. So selfish! 💔⚽️

There’s certainly an argument for some kind of reform. I’m actually now all for this so called ‘Super League’. Allow the ‘big clubs’ to disappear into their elitist league and let the rest of us play in the proper football pyramid.

I know it’s radical but if you could somehow get all non-league clubs to withdraw the FA cup becomes redundant. It’s just the League Cup played twice. They need the non league clubs to give it that magic it has always bragged about. Maidstone showed us that this year.
