So far, I’ve discussed three different specific Indian sociological syndromes on the Weekly Vine. The first is called the Higgins-Macaulay Complex: the belief that fluency in English, delivered with an impressive accent and arcane vocabulary, automatically makes one intellectually superior. The second is the Toaster Lover Syndrome, the phenomenon where people with absurd convictions find enough like-minded individuals online to convince (or connive) themselves that their lunacy is a righteous moral cause and and anyone who disagrees is a bigot. The third is the Rang De Basanti Syndrome, the romantic belief that protesting against the establishment confers moral superiority, regardless of whether one understands the cause for the protest or what comes next. And when you combine all three in a Venn Diagram, you get Captain Overage Activist create by the combined powers of all three. Revisit the first three here: 1. The Higgins-Macaulay Complex (Edition 108) timesofindia.indiatimes.com/… 2. The Rang De Basanti Syndrome (Edition 112) timesofindia.indiatimes.com/… 3. The Toaster Lover Theory (Edition 111) timesofindia.indiatimes.com/…

And if I understand this theory properly, the prime example for the same, and the first name which comes to the mind is Suhel Seth? Is this correct @grok?

Have lots will always improve the lives of have nots more than the have thoughts.
VIDEO | Mumbai: Jio Platforms Ltd makes its stock market debut. Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash Ambani says, “In the decade since, we have had the privilege of transforming the lives of hundreds of millions of Indians. What energised us then, and continues to energise us every day, was never the technology itself, but the people it empowered. A few years ago, in a mountainous region of Kerala, a young girl named Anjali used to walk two kilometres uphill every single day. She did not make this journey for water or supplies, but simply to access data connectivity on her mother’s phone so she could download her school lessons. With Jio, that exhausting daily trek came to an end. Her home became her classroom, and her smartphone became a gateway to infinite knowledge. As we ring the bell today to mark our listing, we remember the millions of Anjalis across India. Our success is measured by the ambitions we inspire and the potential we unlock as we work towards building a better India.” (Source: Jio YT) (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)

Long before kings or presidents measured power by the size of their armies, nuclear arsenals or reverse tariffs, ancient Indian rulers had a rather ingenious way of establishing sovereignty: the Ashvamedha Yajna. A consecrated horse would be allowed to wander across kingdoms with the king’s warriors, and anyone who stopped said horse was challenging the king’s power and claim to the land. The ritual features prominently in both Indian epics: the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. In recorded history, Samudragupta also performed the ritual and commemorated it with gold coins. If the horse ritual was meant to cement a kingdom’s boundaries, in Manchester United’s case, its woes can be traced back to a stud named Rock of Gibraltar: the rock upon which modern Manchester United’s church was desecrated.
In this week’s edition of Offside, @nonsensicalnemo examines how the world’s most popular football institution went from being a perennial winner to a mid-table banter club. READ: toi.in/Kg3fqY90

148) THE RANG DE BASANTI SYNDROME Why are protests so sexy? Why does rebellion feel so righteous? And why do revolutions so often disappoint? In this week's The Weekly Vine, I explore the Rang De Basanti Syndrome. #TheWeeklyVine #RangDeBasanti #Politics #History TOI LINK: timesofindia.indiatimes.com/… LINKEDIN LINK: lnkd.in/p/gEhM6fgf

So, I didn’t want to do this, but am left with little choice. In mid-August, friends and I enquired with @captureatrip about a trip to Seoul. They asked us to deposit a sum and close the booking and threw in visas for free to get us to rush. Two of us three did; the third had her visa already in progress and chose to continue with Atlys. Beyond basic enquiries over the next two days, there was ZERO movement on our visas. We were okay because it wasn’t our headache any way. Now, @captureatrip and their visa partner awoke two weeks later, then gave VERY conflicting information on document requirements, made us send all of those documents printed, even those that could be done digitally, and every time I followed up, they had a new requirement, to the point that they then asked for MORE MONEY to process the visas as express. Then, the visas arrived after our onward flights were due, can you imagine?! The two of us lost two days of Seoul despite tickets being booked and when I finally received the visa, I had to book last minute flights to Delhi on the same day, costing me additionally. After being in contact with their leadership throughout the process, sharing all the miscommunication, building an entire digital dossier, not only were they inconsiderate, they have refused to even refund the amount paid to them despite us eventually being forced to plan and go on our own. We had used them a few years ago, and thus a friend suddenly thought to trust them again. But it has been a terrible experience. Highly recommend never using them. Want to go legal, so all help appreciated.

It's not 2016.
Hillary Clinton says Putin 'has things on Trump', calls him 'compromised' and a 'willing Putin puppet'. She links her theory to Trump’s resistance to releasing the Epstein files.

I disagree with the Dehat outrage though. Dehati and proud as I wrote in the Apologetic Indian. timesofindia.indiatimes.com/…
You don’t have to sell Jung Indien more to me. I was already sold. (It’s another thing that I can’t pronounce that to save my life.) But unapologetically modernist, pro-India, anti-woke, anti-socialist, anti-Dehat and post-religious? And Savarkar fans on top of that? Kids read my mind.

I know this is getting a lot of hate, but the reason Europe is now America's bitch is because of that. PS: That's not a sharp tie knot. Even a double windsor should taper into sharper.
“Indians want to work hard. Nobody in India will tell you it’s five o’clock. And certainly no Indian will ever remind you it’s the weekend,” jokes Commerce Minister Goyal with Dutch business leaders

It is not intimacy if it's not cringe. My two cents is that all intimacy is cringe to the bystander and the spectator.

All Dems have to do to win is not to insist men are women
You sometimes wonder how Trump, who takes bribes from Pakistanis and Qataris, grabs women by their ****ies, obsesses over female and male anatomies during camapign speech, and is generally the ugliest, most corrupted, repugnant ogre you'll ever see in human form, managed to TWICE win US presidential elections. And then you see this 👇. And the answer becomes clear.
