India didn't send combat troops to Korea. It sent something else: an airborne medical unit. The 60th Parachute Field Ambulance arrived in late 1950 and served for more than three years. Doctors, surgeons, nurses' aides, and medics, all trained paratroopers. They lived right alongside the frontline troops, including British and Commonwealth units, and treated anyone who came to them. Soldiers, civilians, refugees, even enemy prisoners. When the UN retreated from North Korea in the brutal winter of 1950, the Indians stayed with the rearguard, treating wounded under fire. In March 1951, they did something no medical unit had done in the war. They jumped out of airplanes with the US 187th Airborne at Munsan-ni and set up a field hospital in enemy territory to treat the paratroopers as they fought. Over the course of the war, the unit is credited with treating more than 200,000 cases and performing thousands of surgeries, often in tents or ruined buildings. Their commander, Lt. Col. A.G. Rangaraj, received India's second-highest wartime gallantry award. After the armistice, India played another huge role: an Indian general led the neutral commission that oversaw tens of thousands of prisoners who refused to go home. India never fired a shot at the enemy in Korea. But it saved an enormous number of lives.

Check India's fuel price. It's cheaper than many Arab countries. Credit where due. Modi's price control measures amid extremely chaotic global scenario is admirable. Street never delivers anything.

JUST IN: Forces tied to Erik Prince’s Vectus Global were ambushed in South Kivu in Congo on September 17 while moving between locations, Reuters reported today. About 20 people were killed or wounded, including at least seven Congolese and a former New Zealand SAS operator. Former UFC fighter and Green Beret Tim Kennedy was also wounded. Sources said the attack’s sophistication points to Rwandan forces backing M23 (March 23 Movement), the main rebel group fighting the Congolese army. One government source said those forces may have tracked a Vectus surveillance drone to the team. Vectus, which also works in Haiti, had been hired to help secure mineral revenue and earlier supported Congolese troops around Uvira.

Read the comments. A lot of lessons for Ind and Pak clowns. You won't see Iranians going "7-0 we won reeeee" or USA blackpilling like bitches over the loss of a few airframes. Both know It's war. Shit happens. Serious nations.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Indian civilization is not great because its men were hardcore. Men fighting till death is not that rare across history. Indian civilization is great because its women were hardcore. No other women went to this extent and at this scale to preserve the good and the Holy.
Say whatever but this was among SLBs best executed sequences ever.. adapting Jayasi's exact chilling spiritual allegory- Bhansali brought the ritualistic vigour to life with precision- outstanding bgm by Sanchit Balhara and Deepika morphing to the Goddess in one of her best turns

Humanities grads believing that STEM grads don't know "how to think" because they weren't formally taught to in some course for credit points, is some serious copium. Also if you are taught socialism and liberalism and come out as a liberal socialist, you've been brainwashed.

Look at how China acquired complex technology: by hiring people who knew the know-how and the know-why, training Chinese engineers and workers under them, and acquiring two second-hand TBMs from Germany to understand the technology from the inside. China reportedly paid RMB 700 million for two used German TBMs in 1997 for this purpose. In 2002, it began developing its own TBMs, and by 2008 it had unveiled its first prototype. By 2012, in head-to-head testing, Chinese TBMs were matching the best in the world. This is how technological dignity is earned: invest, learn, build, iterate and manufacture at scale. India often does exactly the opposite: import the finished technology, avoid the difficult learning curve, and then wonder why indigenous capability never matures.
China now owns the world's largest and most tunnel boring machines (TBMs). 70% of the world's total are made in China. But this dominance is hard-earned. In 1997, to build the Qinling Tunnel, China paid Germany RMB 700 million for just 2 SECONDHAND TBMs. 700 million is an entire region’s tax revenue back then. But the 700 million didn't include support. China also had to hire German engineers for €800/day (≈RMB 6,800), while the average Chinese worker earned less than RMB 4,000 a year. Back then, the global market was locked by the US, Japan, and Germany. China was being robbed, simply because it couldn't produce its own. In 2002, China began the painful journey of self-development of TBM, which has over 30,000 precision parts. After 6 years, in 2008, China's first homegrown TBM was born. In a 2012 head-to-head test, it matched the best in the world. Today, Chinese TBMs lead the world. Dignity is earned. This is just an example in TBM. In humanoid robots, in electric cars, in solar farms, in drones...China has plenty of examples that make the country strong again.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The two TBMs purchased for the Qinling Tunnel in 1996 were newly manufactured by Germany's Wirth at a cost of $60 million USD including backup equipment and technical support, not secondhand for RMB 700 million. tunnelsandtunnelling.com/analysis/hard-…

This scene depicts the honour killing of young Sikh girls by their own families rather than allowing them to fall into the hands of Muslim mobs, amid the violence that began in rural Rawalpindi and later engulfed Punjab. One of the darkest chapters of Partition.
Probably the most powerful, bone chilling and disturbing scene ever portrayed in Indian cinema history

When it comes to India all military-age men become REFUGEES. Oh poor Rohingas, poor Bangladeshi refugees.
Thousands of military-age men were brought in trucks to the Moroccan-Spanish border in Ceuta. Most of them freed criminals pardoned by the king yesterday! Notice the Moroccan officer assisting them. This was all coordinated by the Moroccan government.
