Just a masterclass by the Cowboys run game tonight. Their offensive line was moving the line of scrimmage multiple yards back consistently, the scheme was great and Javonte Williams was awesome They Cowboys had 204 rush yards with a +0.18 EPA/rush. 112 of those rushing yards came *after* contact. Javonte Williams had 155 rushing yards and a +0.32 EPA/rush Tyler Smith and Tyler Booker were dominant against the interior of the Eagles defensive line. The Cowboys ran in the A and B gap 26 times for 157 yards and a +0.23 EPA/rush They used a 6th offensive lineman on 9 rushes and had 81 yards and a +0.54 EPA/rush on those. They had 24 zone rushes for 127 yards and a +0.20 EPA/rush Data: @SumerSports

This Week's episode is a BANGER. Sean Lee, Zack Martin, and Judah Fortgang break down how Carolina’s RPO game, personnel, run-pass marriage, and downfield designs are helping Bryce thrive. Then, Sean shows how Joey Porter Jr. can unlock the Cowboys’ defense, Zack explains what Kenneth Walker has added to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, and the crew makes its Week 7 picks for Patriots–Bears and Colts–Vikings. Great explanation. (but its still gambling, you're still gonna lose $)
The clearest explanation I’ve seen of the difference between prediction markets and sportsbooks. Amazing how much of the media still fails to understand the basic mechanics.

this misunderstanding is not the public's fault, and the regulatory situation is murky, gross, and in flux... but prediction markets and gambling apps are not the same. if you're making a moral judgment, go for it, but they are different. Polymarket and Kalshi aren't having Bryce Harper call you to offer you courtside NBA seats and a blowjob when you're 100k in the hole this is like doing an ad for the S&P 500
I like both of these guys but I genuinely think comedians doings ads for betting apps should invite just as much opprobrium as comedians performing in Riyadh.

For as popular as football is in this country it’s absolutely wild how many people have no idea what they are looking at.

I've been highlighting NFL defenses using what I call "4 Weak Pressures" against offenses on 3rd down. There's been an uptick this season because defenses keep winning with these looks. I breakdown why exactly these looks are working, and what offenses can do to counter them.

Last night I sent this letter to Attorney General Paxton, supplementing my original request for an investigation that I sent last week. The OAG should investigate the individuals and entities behind the text messages and direct mail received by thousands (if not millions) of Texans, determine how Texans' personal information was obtained and used, and ascertain whether any applicable laws have been violated. The investigation must follow the facts wherever they lead, without fear or favor. #txlege

he/they can say it is all game script, chasing the score, but it isn't. here are the numbers if you control for those things (which, granted, we don't have a huge sample for, because they've been down a lot)
Asked Brian Schottenheimer about the lack of motion. He pointed to the fact they trail often. But why does that matter? "You're trying to go fast. You're trying to keep the defense on their heels. You're trying to extend the game for as long as you can and get as many ops as possible, because you don't know what's going to happen. So that's the No. 1 thing. And when you shift in motion, obviously the play clock and the game clock go down and so that limits your ops. And that's a big reason why when you see teams go no huddle, usually receivers don't change sides. Usually you're moving one guy, maybe the back and one guy and you're trying to do that to stay ahead of the clock."

(near) anchor word: retrieve
Ex-#Titans DT Jordan Elliott went to his car to retrieve his gun after a practice altercation with OT JC Latham last Thursday (Oct. 15). After being told to leave the field, Elliott took off his pads and stormed out of the facility, then went to the players' lot. Security cameras captured the sequence. Veteran DL John Franklin-Myers talked him down, and no one was hurt. The Titans released Elliott on Tuesday after reviewing the incident. He signed a 2-year, $8M deal this offseason. News of the incident was first reported by @eastonfreeze and additional details provided by @AaronWilson_NFL.

Dwight Powell, a consummate pro and non-ironically a franchise legend in his own way. A leader and a man everyone respected. He was also a pretty good player in his peak years. Salute.
