Given that multiple ministers are now talking about how India will be a wonderfully developed country by 2047, it is time to point out that I had taken a hard look at all the optimistic predictions being made by them in my book: Will India Get Rich Before It Turns 100? 1/n

More than 61,000 requests to delete voters from Karnataka's rolls were filed in the names of the very officers who decide such requests, and not one of them gives a reason.
As reported by @rishitaakhanna and @pon_vasanth in @the_hindu at least 61,059 Form 7 applications seeking deletion of names from Karnataka's electoral rolls were filed in the names of EROs & AEROs, the officials responsible for deciding them.
That is one-third of all Form 7s filed in the state since August 24.
Not a single one states a reason for deletion, even though stating the reason is mandatory under the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
Officials said they had been instructed to file Form 7s for voters who had shifted, were duplicates, underage, dead or not Indian citizens. But because the forms were auto generated the reason field was left blank.
Without a reason, neither the voter nor anyone examining the roll can know why a name was marked for deletion, or check whether the deletion was justified.
Now look at the timing.
🔹Between August 24 and September 23, during the claims and objections period, only 192 such applications were received.
🔹After that window closed b/w September 24 & October 22 more than 60,800 were filed.
🔹More than 53,000 came in one week between October 16 & October 22 the last week for disposing of notices.
🔹On the final day alone October 22, officials filed 10,105.
Rule 17 of the Registration of Electors Rules says any objection not lodged within the prescribed period or in the prescribed form & manner, shall be rejected by the registration officer.
Objections filed after September 23 were meant to be considered only for a supplementary roll after SIR. Yet when The Hindu cross checked voters EPIC numbers on the ECI portal in every case it checked, the names were already off the roll, including those against whom applications were filed after the deadline. It also remains unclear whether the hearing notices that are mandatory before deletion were ever issued, or on what grounds the names were removed.
The pattern is concentrated.
🔹In BBMP South, officials filed 10,374 of 17,491 applications.
🔹In Bommanahalli, they filed 4,095 of 5,757.
🔹In at least 26 constituencies, officials filed more Form 7s than voters or third parties.
The numbers don't add up either. Between September 24 & October 22, the CEO's office reported 1,70,442 Form 7s, but only 1,56,634 appear in the ECI's public records, a gap of 13,808 applications.
Karnataka's final roll will be published on October 27.
Here the questions are -
🔹Who instructed that Form 7s be filed in the names of EROs and AEROs, and on whose authority?
🔹Why were these forms auto-generated without the reason the law requires?
🔹Why were more than 60,800 objections filed after the deadline & why should they not be rejected under Rule 17?
🔹On what grounds & after what hearing, were the names in these applications removed from the roll?
🔹Why do 13,808 applications reported by the CEO not appear in the ECI's public records?
🔹Will every deletion without a recorded reason be reviewed before the final roll is published?
When the same officers who must judge objections are named as the ones filing them with no reason given & after the deadline, the safeguard meant to protect the voter stops working.
A voter's name cannot be erased by a blank form.

Karnataka SIR: The data bust claims made by the BJP and the right-wing ecosystem that SIR of electoral rolls is primarily aimed at identifying illegal immigrants, particularly alleged Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants.
According to constituency wise data released by Sankalp, a political research consultancy, 108 of the 127 people flagged as Not Indian Citizen are Hindus, 12 are Muslims and seven are Christians. The figures mean that Muslims account for just 9.4% of those listed under this category, while Hindus make up nearly 85% and Christians account for about 5.5%.

My girl said that now when Indians land abroad, the immigration officer stands up from his chair to greet them and says, “Oh, you’re from the land of Modi.”
Now she’s complaining about Indian Airlines and defaming them just because she faced a minor inconvenience with hospitality 🤣
₹1.5 lakh for Air India business class, Delhi to Goa. The airline sends you to @EncalmIndia. Chaotic, barely a seat in sight.
Encalm is a lovely name. Ambitious, though. Perhaps call it Endure?
As for @airindia, is the premium experience delayed, diverted or cancelled?

I do believe something similar happened when so called " leftist" UPA ( I do not understand what the hell that means in context of the Congress because it was the architect of the modern India with plenty of liberal policies that benefited the rich and the poor alike) came to power in 2004.
And that created the best Bull market India has ever seen since it became independent.
In fact the only good broad deep Bull market was 2004 to 2007, exactly from that post 2004 election crash.

61,059 applications to delete voters. Filed by election officials themselves. Not ONE gives a reason. 💀
→ Form 7 is the form used to object to a voter's name and get it deleted.
→ In Karnataka, at least 61,059 Form 7s were filed in the name of election officials. One-third of all such forms.
→ Not a single one mentions a reason. The law says an objection without a reason is liable to be rejected.
→ The officers named on these forms say the system "auto-generated" them with their digital signatures.
→ So the same machinery raised the objection, and the same machinery decided who stays.
→ Between Aug 24 and Sep 23, only 192 such forms were filed by officials.
→ Then, AFTER the objection period ended, more than 60,800 came in.
→ On the very last day, Oct 22, officials filed 10,105 forms.
→ Spot checks found names were already deleted, even for forms filed after the deadline.
→ It is unclear whether hearing notices, which are mandatory before deletion, were even issued.
Now connect the dots.
Officials say they didn't fill these forms. The "system" did, with their signatures.
Whose system is it? Election Commission's.
Who runs the Election Commission? Gyanesh Kumar.
So a software is allegedly deleting voters, in the name of officers, without a reason, after the deadline.
And nobody, not the voter, not the public, can check why.
Bro, imagine.
Someone forges your signature on a cheque.
The bank says, "Don't worry, the system did it automatically."
And the money is already gone before you even find out.
That's what is happening to people's VOTE.
That's not SIR.
That's silent deletion.
Gyanesh , who told your software to sign deletion forms in officers' names?
Modi , voters deleted without reason, after the deadline. Who is this "system" working for? 🔥🔥🔥

Imagine owning a BS4 car with a valid PUC, paying your taxes and maintaining it properly, but still being told you can't enter Delhi.
Meanwhile, the government allows vehicles to remain legal for years.
If my car passes the pollution test, why should its age alone decide whether I can drive it?
What's the point of PUC then?
More than 10 lakh vehicles in neighbouring NCR areas of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad could be affected by Delhi's decision to prohibit the entry of vehicles below BS6 emission standards from Nov 1, 2026 to Jan 31, 2027, according to transport department estimates.
