Collapse is the best way to describe it. 20 turnovers is unbelievable. Horrible and disappointing way to start the season.
Villanova has made just two baskets (non fouls shots) in the final 10 minutes of this one. Brutal collapse.

After Luigi Suigo dropped 16 points, 15, rebounds, and 5 assists. My research took me to Michael Bradley’s 22 points, 18 rebounds, and 6 assists in a Villanova 107-100 double overtime loss to West Virginia on Feb. 20, 2001 as the last Wildcat to total something similar.

Yeah I’ll take it
Luigi Suigo has done what Villanova needs from him. He’s got 16 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists.

Albeit against a small Holy Cross team, Sugio has 10 PTS / 7 REB / 3 AST on 5/5 at half. A good response after criticism. Want to see more of it, but he definitely:

Holy Cross is not Notre Dame, but Luigi Suigo is having a super impactful opening seven minutes. Making contact on screens, making good passes, two offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds.

You have to figure, given the size Luigi is showing tonight, this was to help give Kwame some extra rest against a team we have a ton of size against
Forward Kwame Evans Jr. will not be in uniform tonight for the Wildcats (left hip soreness).

Good morning. Here’s the first real update to ESPN’s 2027 NBA draft projections. Long way to go in what’s shaping up as a fascinating and wide-open draft cycle. espn.com/nba/story/_/id/5037…

Each collegiate basketball program has a panic button. Some never come close to pressing it, while others hover their fingers over it, waiting for the inevitable moment. What should Villanova basketball do? From me with @NovanSports: villanovan.com/35671/sports/…

The amount of heat I’ve seen Luigi Suigo get on this app is just ridiculous. Suigo was never going to be a guy that put out first-round level production right away. People need to learn some patience and let this man develop. He’s still getting acclimated to American basketball. The player Luigi was on Sunday and the player he’ll be at the end of the year will be vastly different. Luigi will be fine and this team will be fine. Relax

Agree with Mike here, though I do think Elijah Crawford played pretty well down the stretch. No sugarcoating that loss, though. Terribly coached and perhaps even worse in execution. Nearly every roster in the country has a bunch of new guys, so that can't be an excuse anymore.
Need to watch this game back, but in the bits I saw, I’m really unimpressed with Villanova. No true lead guard, Evans seemed off (they really need him healthy), and for a team who really wanted to get tougher, they got beat bad on the glass and with turnovers.

Tyler Perkins gave Villanova a 60-50 lead with 10:24 to go. The Wildcats then made just two of their next nine attempts and had two critical turnovers.

And watch 16 turnovers (and counting) we have. You cannot turn the ball over that many times and expect to win games. Need to hold off Notre Dame here, but not loving the sloppy ball handling and movement
Turnovers were something Tommy and I called out as a thing to watch.

Phenomenal work by Crawford to take over the game here, work with Suigo on the pick and roll and get some buckets. Bad foul on the other end by Suigo, but ‘Cats still up 66-60

From my Villanova-Rutgers exhibition story: Willard wouldn’t shut the door on Jake Fiegen starting. He started in the season opener. ⛓️‍💥: villanovan.com/35324/sports/…
