The left and the right keep fighting centrists like me. They expect us to shut up and pick a side. I can't do that.
Can you?
Share what you believe or where you differ from my list.
This is what I believe in:
Economic & Social Core
• Healthcare for all
• Living wages (raise the minimum)
• Access to food and basic housing as a national baseline
• Pro-choice
• Gay marriage
• Climate response
• Taxing the rich
• Closing corporate tax loopholes and eliminating offshore tax havens
• Cutting government subsidies for highly profitable industries (e.g., oil)
• Stopping corporate exploitation of basic needs (housing, food, and energy)
America First Principles
• Strict, limited immigration (heavily vetted system)
• Limiting corporate work visas to protect American workers
• Clean energy initiatives, including Green + Nuclear
• Funding critical infrastructure (roads, bridges, power grids, hospitals, and emergency services)
• Cutting foreign aid until we take care of our own
• Ending toxic foreign entanglements and the funding of military occupations
Core Principles
• Personal freedom to live how you want (unless your actions infringe on the rights of others)
• The 2nd Amendment (with thorough background checks and cooling-off periods)
• Absolute religious freedom for all individuals
• Zero government overreach (no mass surveillance, no compelled or restricted speech)
• Keeping the Bible and identity politics out of public schools
• Revamping public education (banning classroom smartphones and backing teachers over toxic student/parent behavior)
• Stopping US funding and involvement in the Israel-Middle East conflicts
• Cutting defense bloat (by about $1 trillion from the proposed 2027 budget)
• The need for non-partisan media (we need a modern-day Cronkite)
Not left. Not right. I call it like I see it.
I swear MTG left Congress and started making sense. We have a two-party system. If you don't like Trump, your only real choice is to vote Blue. That doesn't mean blue won. It means red lost.
Independents, not registered with a party, are still the largest group of Americans.
Dear Democrats,
You won your historic victory on Tuesday with the help of our America First coalition on 4 key basic issues.
1. End foreign wars, war in Iran, and funding for Israel.
2. Reduce cost of living and gas/diesel (economy)
3. End corruption in Gov
4. Reduce cost of healthcare/health insurance
Which were also key components of the mandate delivered to Trump and Republicans, which they betrayed and failed to deliver.
Your party has two factions, older establishment Dems and younger populists Dems.
If the New Democrat majority returns to issues that lost your majority and presidency in 2024 and doesn’t stay focused on those 4 main issues, then the American populists movement that swung it big for you this cycle will not vote for you in 2028.
For example, bringing back 2020-2024 issues like woke, identity politics, forcing trans issues, gun control, Covid vaccine mandates, and open borders are not the issues that drove this massive blue tsunami.
Allowing the older establishment Democrats to run back to those issues that were defeated in the 2024 election would be a very grave mistake, tone deaf, and would completely undermine the opportunity you have before you.
The country didn’t suddenly join the Democrat Party with a sworn allegiance to always vote Democrat.
The country voted to end Trump and to refocus back to the main kitchen table issues that are hurting their lives.
And most of the younger generations of voters could care less about team party politics and just beating the other side.
The future is all about, “deliver results for Americans” and whoever can get it done.
To be very clear, I’m conservative and have voted Republican my entire life, but went into open rebellion and war against Trump and Republicans, the man I worked tirelessly to put in office because he betrayed his promises and the Republican Party turned back to it’s repulsive neocon elite donor focused ways and refused to deliver for the American people.
Our entire coalition did, we ended the Trump era and burned our party down, but we didn’t turn into Democrats.
For both parties need to realize that most Americans want the same basic things and the future belongs to an independent minded left/right powerful coalition that will force our elected and tax payer funded government to deliver for Americans or face punishment at the polls.
Focus on the issues that won on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, not issues the American people defeated in the past.
The ball is in your court.
Good luck!
Everyone is shocked Schumer and Jeffries are taking credit for the win this week. They spent the last year or so fighting or slow-walking the new blood that actually got elected, like El-Sayed and Mamdani.
Voters rejected Trump. They did not suddenly embrace the old Democratic establishment.
The two-party system sucks. Don't like the Dems or GOP? Too bad. Vote for one. We need at least a third party. Politics should not be binary.
This is well said.
I read JD Vance's post on this site yesterday and at first I was shocked. The Vice President all but admitted that his own administration made a mistake going to war with Iran. I can't think of a sitting VP breaking with his President this publicly in my lifetime.
And at first glance his analysis seems spot on. His first prescription is to end the war. A war that he and the President, until this week, refused to even call a war.
It's hard to disagree with him. But like everything MAGA, the thread of truth is there to hide the larger truth. And the larger truth is this.
Tuesday was the greatest repudiation of a sitting President by voters in the history of this country.
Not a repudiation of a policy. A repudiation of a man.
The message was not only about Iran or Israel or slogans or even the price at the pump. The message was simple.
WE ARE DONE WITH DONALD TRUMP.
We are done with his lies. We are done with the corruption and the gaslighting. We are done with the insanity. We are done with the cruelty.
The message from Mississippi to Iowa, from Kansas to Maine, from North Carolina to Texas, young and old, North and South, East and West, was the same.
Fuck Donald Trump.
This country desperately needs a healthy Republican Party. A party with room for Mitt Romney and Thomas Massie, for Chris Christie and (I can't believe I'm saying this) Marjorie Taylor Greene. A party that puts this constitutional republic above the interests of one man. A party that knows the difference between a Ken Paxton and a John Cornyn, between a Vivek Ramaswamy and a Mike DeWine.
That is the message voters sent on Tuesday, with more ballots cast than in any midterm in American history.
WE ARE DONE WITH DONALD TRUMP.
The sooner the brave members of whatever remains of the Republican Party understand that, the sooner we can begin to heal.
I hope Democrats in Congress heard it too. Voters sent the same message in 2020, and we failed to make it stick. I for one don't think this country can afford 26 more months of this madness before we do the one thing voters just demanded in historic numbers.
Trump needs to leave, and he needs to leave now.
All it would take this January is eleven Republican senators willing to acknowledge the existential threat this lawless President poses to the country and the world. Eleven brave Republicans need to stand up and end this madness. Save their party. Save the country.
It's up to all of us to give them the courage to do what's right.
Could Kushner’s private meeting with Jeffries explain Trump’s confidence?
Trump, asked if he’s worried about Democratic impeachment efforts: “Not even a little bit.”
Trump gets rebuked by the American people in last night's midterms. His response. Talk about all of the money he spent renovating DC and the White House.
Trump: I like beautiful things, especially when it comes to the White House. And we had a group of very talented people work with me for the last year. And we've totally redone the facade of the White House in the finest exterior plaster.
NBC: Breaking news this hour, House Speaker Mike Johnson just told his staff in a phone call this morning he will not run for minority leader.
Another proud moment for Trump today. Kansas just elected its first Democratic senator in 94 years.
Adam Hamilton (D) beat Roger Marshall (R). Trump won the state by 16 points in 2024. First Democrat sent to the Senate from Kansas since 1932.
Private Kushner meeting Jeffries: “I will work with Trump.” Now claims he’ll end the war before day one.
Blitzer: What issues will Democrats, Leader Jeffries, tackle on day one?
Jeffries: Well, one of the first things that need to happen now. Not even waiting until we get to January 3rd of the new Congress in the new Year.
Is that the president and the administration should end this reckless and costly war of choice in Iran that has skyrocketed gas prices, skyrocketed fertilizer prices, skyrocketed the price of diesel, and as a result, increased costs on everyday Americans, including as it relates to groceries and goods.
And of course, as we've discussed, gas, that should happen now. There was never a reason to get into this war, and we need to get out of it immediately.
Glad to see Trump get rebuked last night.
Friendly reminder: the Democrats didn't win. The Republicans lost. The difference is one validates an agenda, the other rebukes one.
Independents, disenfranchised Republicans, and moderates had nowhere else to go.
Push hard left for the 1%, and you just set up the next Trump-like candidate and another MAGA cult.
Trump keeps getting walked through the stepfather indictment and the 1978 estrangement and still pretends none of it exists.
Reporter: Now that you know the backstory, her stepfather was indicted for rape, do you change your mind about the ad?
Trump: No. I don't care. I don't know anything about a stepfather. This has nothing to do with a stepfather.
He does this the entire gaggle. Reporters keep laying out the court record. He keeps claiming the only fact that matters is the mother called her a liar. Everything else is just the press trying to nullify it.
Kash Patel’s FBI charges two former senior FBI officials with lying to Congress about Hunter Biden
Nikki Floris and Bradley Benavides were members of the now-dissolved Foreign Influence Task Force. Both testified in 2023 that the task force was not involved in the Hunter Biden investigations.
Patel says documentary evidence, contemporaneous communications, and witness accounts contradict that testimony. One claimed he only learned of the laptop from Wikipedia.
Floris is also accused of privately claiming she was “running a shadow government” during the 2020 election.
They were charged today with making false statements to Congress. Their lawyers call the timing political.
Trump’s former economic adviser says the new housing rule is a bad idea
Moore: I love Scott Bessent. I love Donald Trump. But I think this is a very bad idea.
If you reduce demand for housing, what is that going to do to the supply? People are not going to build housing if you cannot sell it.
The much better approach to make housing affordable is to bring the inflation rate down. If you bring inflation below 2%, mortgage rates will fall.
4-star general Jack Keane on Fox this morning: Putin is a war criminal for targeting civilians because he cannot defeat Ukraine’s army.
Residences, shopping malls, metro stations. No military targets.
Same week the administration is easing sanctions and buying his diesel.
CNN: Republican mega-donor Peter Thiel is breaking with the president over the war in Iran.
Thiel: "I think we should not have done it. There were a lot of mistakes that were made."
Trump: It took a lot of courage to do it because no other president was willing to do it.
Collins: Scott, do you believe this was ordained by God, this political strategy as the President alluded to there at the end?
Jennings: No, I don't... when you launch something like this, it's so incendiary and has the capacity to and probably will blow up in your face.
Colins: It's hard to find a prominent Republican who is defending the ad other than Vivek, Vance, and quite fervently, President Trump.
Trump: "The press has ganged up... This is a mother saying very bad things about her daughter. And I don't know why that should be shielded."
MSNOW: 'Divorced from reality': Ret. Lt. General slams Witkoff calling Putin 'a humanitarian'
Lt. General: A humanitarian would not be the word I would use anywhere close to describing Mr. Putin. It is antithetical to who he is as an individual.
Mr. Wyckoff and I'll include Mr. Kushner are businessmen, and they do not know how to converse with different cultures that are different from our own. And they seem to be complimenting a guy, it's just reinforcing his power and authoritarian grab.
It makes no sense because it's just divorced from reality.
