It’s not the governments fault it’s raining but it is their fault that the country has no proper flood defences or urban drainage systems. It’s not just ‘bad weather’, it’s complete infrastructure failure under stress. It’s like our roads, anything above ‘normal’ and the whole thing grinds to a halt. The government has been spouting about climate change and increasing rainfall for years now. They’re even taxing us for it. Yet, they haven’t invested in proper drainage systems/ infrastructure. We seem to have money for wages increases for government employees and CEO’s and for countless NGO’s, costing us billions. Meanwhile, the taxpayers get nothing. We pay high taxes, get no public services, get ripped off, and get no protection from floods. It’s complete negligence and mismanagement.
⚠️🌧️An apartment complex in Clongriffin, Co.Dublin, has been flooded, with vehicles in the underground car park submerged in water. A Status Yellow rain warning is in place for Dublin and Wicklow, with widespread frost and icy patches expected tonight. 📻For more weather updates, tune in to Newstalk.

Insanity: Government does the same thing over and over and over again and expect different results. That’s irrational, disingenuous and self-defeating. Nothing will change unless they change tactics but they just won’t do it. It’s absolutely infuriating and so disheartening for people. Stop voting for FG/FF.
Today's home completion figures show that supply can't seem to break above the 35,000 annual units threshold.

I represented the Claimant in this case. The WRC upheld our complaint of Unfair Dismissal and awarded my client €22.5k.

Well done Irish government! We’re now too expensive even for US companies!
"Dublin, to run an event, is possibly one of the most expensive places in the world. We've done shows all around the world, obviously, at the biggest stadiums around the world, Croke Park was like something I've never seen." Frank Smith on the difficulties of holding an event at Croke Park.

7 times the EU average. 7 times. Complete negligence and incompetence from the Irish government. No two ways about it. No wonder we have no money.
Irish government spending on various social housing payments* is seven times the EU average and multiple times all other European countries. *as a share of total government spending

2001 Minor All Ireland SF: Donaghy’s Kerry debut. He had only been called into Charlie Nelligan’s Kerry minor team a few days before the all Ireland semi final. He said he’d need new boots for the occasion and went to the shop to buy some cool adidas predators but they only had them in size 12 - Kieran was a size 13. He got them anyway. He came on in the 24th minute and had to take them off at half time because they were cutting the feet off him. You can see the preds in this clip. The ball Donaghy catches is kicked out by Bryan Sheehan who was the minor goalkeeper for 3 years (2001, 2002, 2003), before moving into the half forward line for Kerry later. The team also featured Gooch, Donnacha Walsh and Declan O’Sullivan.

Self sufficiency in energy also means a more robust and stable electricity supply and ensures we can meet the needs of our growing population and economy. Right now, our limited energy production is affecting the economy, particularly in relation to tech companies creating jobs.

The answer is energy independence and finally getting a grip on our energy system and costs. The government is asleep at the wheel once again as businesses are forced to close, households are financially crippled and the economy suffers.

Self sufficiency in energy will allow us develop energy sustainability and reduce carbon emissions. We would have more control over the energy sector as a whole and we could more efficiently develop clean energy systems which we badly need going forward.
