🎬 Time and Night" (Season 2, Episode 7 of The Sandman)
Dream walks into the Vatican and immediately sees through the disguises. Loki is dressed as the Pope, while Puck is pretending to be a cardinal. I love how Dream doesn't waste time with their little act. He knows exactly who he's dealing with, and their secret meeting is already off to a bad start.

When some men are healthy and doing well, they have no time to spend with their wives and children. They are always with their friends and side chicks. But the moment they become bedridden, their wives and children automatically become their caregivers, while the people they spent so much time with disappear.

My wife and I had a joke in the first year: she was the engine and I was the passenger. I loved it then. Being wanted that much felt like winning something I hadn't earned.
Priya wanted sex the way other people want coffee: every morning, most nights, sometimes in the middle of the afternoon when I came home early and found her standing in the bedroom doorway, already smiling. She initiated so often that I stopped noticing I'd never once had to. I'd never had to wonder if she was in the mood.
By year three, I started wondering whether I could keep up.
It started small. I was tired after work, then tired on weekends, then tired in a way sleep didn't fix. She never pushed, but she never stopped reaching for me either, and I could feel the gap between her wanting and my capacity like a debt compounding in the dark. Some nights my body simply wasn't interested, no matter how much the rest of me was.
A doctor friend wrote me a prescription for Viagra. I told myself it was no different from a vitamin. For a few months it worked, and she was thrilled. She told me I was a different man, that she felt like we were newlyweds again. I smiled and took it as a compliment.
Then the headaches started. My heart would race afterward, hammering so hard I'd lie awake listening to it. I started planning my evenings around the pill, around the hour it needed, around the dread of the moment she'd turn toward me. Sex had become something I prepared for like a shift at work.
I never told her. She thought I was glowing. I was only surviving.

I thought my boyfriend was visiting his mother in London until I checked the airport website and discovered something that made me question our entire relationship.
We’ve been dating for four months, and last Thursday, he told me he was flying from New York to London to handle some family business.
I spoke to him while he was waiting to board. Shortly afterward, he texted that the plane was taking off and he’d switch off his phone.
Since I’d agreed to look after his dog, I collected it and took it home. Later, I checked a flight-tracking website to make sure he’d landed safely.
That’s when I noticed something strange. There were no flights to London around the time he’d claimed to have departed.
When I called him, he insisted he’d landed at Heathrow. But his flight was nowhere on the arrivals board.

Mom: “I know you probably don't want to see me.”
Me: “Then why are you standing outside my house?”
Mom: “Because I heard you're having a baby.”
I hadn't spoken to my mother in nine years.
When I was 19, she kicked me out after I refused to give her the money I'd saved for college.
She told our relatives I was selfish.
For years, I waited for her to apologize.
She never did.
Eventually, I stopped expecting anything from her.
Now she was standing on my doorstep, holding a tiny pair of baby shoes.
Me: “You don't get to disappear for nine years and suddenly become a grandmother.”
Mom: “I know.”
Me: “Do you?”
She looked at the shoes in her hands.
Mom: “No. Probably not.”
I should have closed the door.
Instead, I asked her why she'd really come.
Her answer changed everything.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth spent nearly ten years becoming one of Hollywood's most talked-about couples.

After years of this cycle, it finally looked like they had figured things out.
On December 23, 2018, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth quietly got married at her Tennessee home.
For people who had followed their relationship for years, the wedding felt like the happy ending everyone had been waiting for.
Then, less than eight months later, everything collapsed.

Back in February 2020, I froze my gym membership because money was tight. I was paying $48 a month, and getting the cancellation approved had been a nightmare. They made me call customer service multiple times and even send a written request.
Eventually, they froze the account, and my payments dropped to zero.
I assumed that was the end of it. What I didn't expect was that my membership card would keep working years later.

last summer i got a job at a mini golf place, and on my first day my boss told me one rule: "never let anyone take the red ball from hole 7."
i thought it was a joke. it was a normal red golf ball sitting in a little cage at the start of hole 7, with a sign that said "OFFICIAL COURSE BALL, DO NOT REMOVE."
every day, kids would ask if they could use it. every day, i'd say no. grown men would try to sneak it into their pockets. one guy offered me twenty bucks.
i asked my boss, dale, why it mattered so much. he just said, "you'll understand when you've been here a year."
so i quit being curious and just guarded the ball like it was the crown jewels. by august, people were calling me "the ball guy." i honestly started to feel proud of it.
then in september, dale called me into the office, sat me down, and said, "okay. i think you're ready to know about the red ball."
