Update thru play Sunday: 73.1% of MLB pitchers have had a 4-seam spin reduction (adjusted for velocity) since June 3 memo, 38.8% a reduction by more than half an rpm/mph unit. And 17.3% by a full rpm/mph unit. Declines have increased each week since June 3 thescore.com/mlb/news/218001…

1. This is a complex subject that we've tried to examine from multiple angles. But in the latest issue of Baseball America, we looked at how the MLB trends (more Ks, more BBs, lower batting average) are really over-arching baseball trends.

Source: RHP Norge Carlos Vera (20) officially signs with the Chicago White Sox for 1.5 M. It is expected that in the near future Vera will be placed between Class A and AA level. He becomes the 12th Cuban in the White Sox system.

MLB willing to compromise on 50/50 revenue split.
Players would defer their prorated salaries to future years to reduce owner expenses in 2020.
Both showing a willingness to negotiate and get a deal done. They want baseball.
