A pro-life pregnancy help hotline is answering the call of millions of women and families nationwide, responding to thousands of daily inquiries with compassion and connection to tangible help.
Founded in 2003, Option Line is a bilingual pro-life contact center managed by Heartbeat International. Option Line consultants speak with callers who have questions about abortion, adoption, and parenting, expressing care and compassion and helping to connect them with life-affirming resources – including actively scheduling appointments with local pregnancy support centers while on the phone, the organization's news arm, Pregnancy Help News, reported.
Connecting moms, dads, and families with life-affirming support and care is a crucial element of the pro-life movement, and it’s an aspect in which Oregon Right to Life is also deeply involved.
Oregon Right to Life Education Foundation is committed to helping women and families across the state get connected with life-affirming care – from pregnancy and prenatal care and education to parenting classes and even support for housing, food, and clothing. Outreach is particularly important now, with abortions in Oregon last year reaching their highest annual rate since 2009, according to Oregon Health Authority data.
Anyone looking for life-affirming care in Oregon for themselves or others can access a growing supply of resource guides for particular counties or regions of the state at ortl.org/community-resources, or go to ortl.org/resources to access a statewide online directory of vetted organizations and service providers.

Yesterday was Election Day.
It wasn’t the sort of results we'd hoped for, but we’re energized to redouble our efforts.
No election, political agenda, or difficulty will ever stop us from standing up and being a voice for the voiceless.
We’re not going anywhere. Today, just as we did yesterday and for the past five and a half decades, we will continue to advocate for the unborn and the medically vulnerable. We will continue to take every opportunity to work toward a culture in Oregon that honors and protects every human life.
And we’ll do it together.
Do you believe two people can disagree about abortion while both genuinely caring about women and children? Why or why not?
An Idaho mother who received life-saving care from doctors during a severe pregnancy complication pushed back against pro-abortion talking points in a powerful column published by Live Action last week.
Valerie Abraham, mother of four living children and wife of a trauma physician, wrote about being rushed into the emergency room and receiving life-saving care while eighteen weeks pregnant.
When she went into premature labor and delivered her baby girl, Valerie said she and her husband "held her, prayed with her, and treasured every minute of her brief life." Though the baby girl died after just 43 minutes, Valerie said she lived and died with dignity. According to Valerie, doctors treated both her and her baby as patients deserving of care.
Valerie said she is voting "no" on Proposition 1, a ballot initiative that would enshrine abortion into Idaho's state constitution, this November. She said Idaho's current laws protect both moms and babies, rejecting accusations that the laws endanger women like herself who experience serious pregnancy complications.

Unborn babies are being saved across Oregon thanks to the Knights of Columbus' program to equip pro-life pregnancy resource centers with ultrasound machines.
The project, launched by the Knights of Columbus in 2009, helps abortion-vulnerable women choose life by giving them the opportunity to see the humanity of their unborn babies with the aid of technology.
The Oregon Knights of Columbus have helped place 45 ultrasound machines in pro-life pregnancy resource centers statewide. They’ve placed two this year, with more in the works.
Oregon Knights of Columbus State Deputy Bob Adams, whose term expires in July, 2027, said he hopes to raise the Oregon total from 45 to 50 ultrasound machines before he passes the baton.
“One of the core fundamentals in the Knights of Columbus is that [human life] has dignity in every stage,” Adams said. “In teaching with our Catholic Faith, we defend life from the moment of conception through natural death.”

Last month, I traveled to England with some friends from college.
We saw the sights in London, stood transfixed by Oxford’s famous spires, punted on the river in Cambridge, marveled at Stonehenge, strolled the storybook lanes of the Cotswolds, and explored the stunning wilds of the Lake District.
Having so recently been there and soaked up the majesty of England with all its castles, cathedrals, pubs, and gardens, it was with a sense of familiarity and kinship that I began listening to pro-life apologist Scott Klusendorf’s recent video essay describing a polite, friendly, and information-packed conversation about abortion he had at an Oxford pub when he, too, was in England around the same time that my friends and I were...
