As the soft launch of 2024-25 FAFSA® form is underway, the form is available for short periods of time to ensure a better experience for students and families.
We will not share information submitted during this soft launch period with schools, states and scholarship organizations until the end of the month.
Applicants will have ample time to fill out the 2024-25 FAFSA and should not rush to complete the form immediately. If you visit the site during a planned pause, check back later to access the form.
Visit StudentAid.gov/announcements… for more information on what to expect during the soft launch.

When completing your 2022–23 FAFSA® form, make sure you understand these key terms to avoid any errors. 👇

ALT On the FAFSA form, legal guardianship means a person determined by a court to be your guardian. This does not include your parents. When calculating household size, you should include yourself, your parents, any children other than yourself, and any additional people who live with your parents. For number of family members in college, include yourself and anyone other than your parents who will be attending college. Taxable college grants and scholarships only include ones reported as income to the Internal Revenue Service.
