New report and campaign: UK Lawyers for Israel cries wolf, and it has no credibility left. Of the 14 complaints it made about charities where we could find the outcome, the Charity Commission found nothing against the charity in 11. UKLFI showed its inhumanity when its chief executive suggested Israel's starvation of Gaza could help reduce obesity there. Now it keeps reporting the charities trying to feed and treat Palestinians in Gaza. Every complaint has to be answered, often by volunteers. Most then come to nothing. UKLFI's credibility is so bad, the press often buries who is behind the complaints. When the Charity Commission opened its case into MSF, none of the five reports we read put UKLFI in the headline. The Telegraph first named it in paragraph five. None of the reports on the MSF case we read told readers how UKLFI's earlier complaints had ended. Now look at UKLFI's ties to the Israeli occupation: - Its home page carries a thank-you from a "senior Israeli intelligence officer": "Thanks to your continuous efforts you have achieved the goal that the State of Israel was trying to get since 1997." The goal was a British aid charity for Palestinians, which UKLFI says lost its banking after UKLFI wrote to its banks. - On 6 May 2021 Israel's Foreign Ministry accused a Palestinian health provider of sending donors' money to the PFLP. The same day UKLFI sent the allegation to the provider's British funder, which stopped the funding that day. - A leaked Israeli Ministry of Justice note, reported by Middle East Eye, says the Turners who run UKLFI asked a senior ministry official for "assistance in finding or validating evidence that will help them" while a British aid charity was taking legal action against UKLFI. Jonathan Turner said he could not recall the meeting. - A month into Israel's total block on aid to Gaza, UKLFI's own charity hosted an official of COGAT, the Israeli Ministry of Defence unit that controls that aid, for a webinar called "Did Israel Starve Gaza Civilians?". - An Israeli minister says its legal director "successfully represents Israel". UKLFI says it is "not linked to the Israeli government". Its MSF dossier, sent to the Home Secretary "for consideration under the Terrorism Act", rests on staff "identified by the Israeli authorities". The Charity Commission has three inquiries open into charities over alleged links to Iran. It has not said whether a charity that gave Israel's Ministry of Defence its platform raises the same concern, and it keeps opening cases on UKLFI's complaints. It seems there is one standard for Iran and another for the Israeli occupation. We set out every complaint, every outcome and every link to the Israeli occupation, each with its source: newscord.org/editorials/uk-l… Also, in under a minute, you can ask for an update on the Charity Commission investigation into UKLFI, which launched last year: newscord.org/action/uklfi-ch…

Three paragraphs when two words would have done. "Revolving door."
Mr Polanski, I know you have a reputation for being scrupulous about checking your facts, but you’ve missed an important detail. My contract requires me to remain on leave from the Lords, surrender my parliamentary pass and forgo all access and voting rights for the duration of my employment at Palantir. I do not, therefore, take any whip. I fear this makes me rather less useful to the whips’ office than you imply.

If Trump had kept his campaign promises, the Epstein class would be getting prosecuted, there'd be no war in Iran or Ukraine, gas prices would be hitting new lows, real wages would be rising for the first time in nearly a decade, and the GOP would be adding seats in the midterms.

Just in: IPSO has refused to investigate the Telegraph cartoon of Mothin Ali, the Green Party's Muslim deputy leader, grinning over a knife and fork at the severed head of Zack Polanski, its Jewish leader, who is drawn with a hooked nose. Nearly 1,200 of you complained. IPSO's reason: the cartoon is about two individuals, so only Mothin and Zack can complain. How racist the drawing is doesn't come into it. IPSO did not have to do this, and it has done the opposite before. IPSO's rules let it take up a complaint from people other than the person written about, when the breach is significant, and there is a substantial public interest in looking at it. In July 2023 it used that power. It ruled that Jeremy Clarkson's Sun column about the Duchess of Sussex was sexist, after complaints from two women's charities, the Fawcett Society and the WILDE Foundation. The Duchess did not complain. The Telegraph's editor, Chris Evans, chairs the committee that writes the Editors' Code, which is the rulebook IPSO enforces. The Telegraph is still selling prints of the cartoon today. IPSO's rule says it may take up a complaint like this, not that it must. So this was a choice. Picture a school. One boy draws two classmates, a Muslim boy and a Jewish boy. He gives the Jewish boy a hooked nose and puts his head on a plate, and draws the Muslim boy about to eat it. He pins the picture to the noticeboard and sells copies at the gate. A thousand pupils go to the head teacher. She tells them she can only act if the two boys in the picture come to her themselves. So the picture stays on the board, and every Muslim and Jewish child in the school walks past it each morning. The boy who drew it learns he can do it again. And the rulebook the head teacher is reading from was written by a committee his dad chairs. Nobody would say that head teacher is protecting the children. She is protecting the boy who drew it. That is what IPSO has done. It says it regulates the Telegraph, and it has just told nearly 1,200 people that a racist cartoon in a paper it regulates is not its business unless the two men drawn in it come and ask.

Steve Bell was sacked by The Guardian over this cartoon of Benjamin Netanyahu.

Incredibly hard for that Zionist, who works for an IDF prison camp guard, to give an honest assessment of anything.

People see this chart and think the difference is just the deaths caused by the Holocaust (is nobody thinking it through?). Instead it also includes everything like escapees/refugees or even territorial loss to Russia together with Holocaust, war and famine.

The mechanisms of Israel's control of the narrative among Americans are varied. But here's just one example. This post is from @dinakraft, a journalist who reports on Palestine and Israel for mainstream outlets like @csmonitor. She is one of the many Jewish American zionists who exercised their Jewish privilege to become Israeli colonizers on occupied Palestinian land, who are paid to "report" news from the region as if they were impartial journalists, rather than the ideologues they are. Others like her include @Heidiphotos, who has been in the news lately for getting beaten up by Jewish settlers in the West Bank. She admits that Palestinians saved her life, but she doesn't seem to know their names, nor does she appear to have made any effort to find out who they are, or thank them. I'm also told by a reliable source that she lived (and may still live) in an old villa that was made into four apartments (likely stolen from the original Palestinian owners, as it sits immediately adjacent to a confirmed stolen Palestinian home). AP's news director for Israel-Palestine, Josef Federman, is another one. The @TheGrayzoneNews reported on leaked files that showed him on a panel aimed at assisting “Israel’s ability to effectively portray its narrative” at an Israeli government event dedicated to destroying the BDS movement. Isabel Kershner writes for the @nytimes. Like the "western reporters" there, she's a zionist colonizer whose children served in Israel's military. There are still dozens more; too many to name, including some who are colonizers in West Bank colonies. Are we supposed to believe there are no non-zionist journalists in the entirety of the American population who can report on this issue? These aren't just reporters who "happen to be Jewish." They are literal zionist ideologues who live as Jewish colonizers and who get to determine the fate of this land while the actual indigenous people there do not.

This article, by @stevenstrogatz for @TheAtlantic, is probably the most honest assesment of the current situation that you'll read. No one knows exactly how to move forward. What new training pathways will look like. How young mathematicians will develop the things the community have prized for generations like 'taste'. What they can say is that they are thinking very, very hard -- as if the future of the field depended on it. Because it does.

It’s inspiring to see this pivot. After finding this new course 👇🏼 as well, I think this will be the start of a trend in teaching AI-enhanced Math & CS
I’m excited to finally announce the newest edition my Stanford course 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿. It has been 9 months in the making. Last November, with the release of Claude Opus 4.5, coding agents experienced a step function improvement in capability. We all felt it. The LLMs were more powerful, could reason for longer, solve harder tasks. This year’s iteration of my course reflects the 2026 metamorphosis of software engineering. My core belief is simple: AI-native developers of the LLM era are going to become the most important members of any software organization. I have designed my course to train this next generation of engineers. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 First, 85% of my Fall 2025 class material is being thrown out. The Fall 2026 syllabus reflects the core capabilities AI-native engineers must have: agent skills, advanced context engineering, MCP portals, agent-ready codebase principles, agentic code review, security, parallelizing background agents, software factories, and more. Second, I am going to teach my students how to have software taste. Every student will be required to ship pull requests to production-grade, real-world codebases. The course is collaborating with the top open-source AI repos who will offer support and mentorship to students on how to meaningfully contribute to their projects. This has never been done before in any university course so I am incredibly grateful to our OSS Partners: @browserbase, @HeyGen, @CopilotKit, @semgrep, @OpenHandsDev, @milvusio, @marimo_io, Pi, @crewAIInc, @warpdotdev, @vercel, @cmux, @arizeai, @UnslothAI, and @anyscalecompute. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 I’m fortunate to again have AI software engineering leaders and founders as guest speakers to share their learnings from building top coding agent products. Thank you to @leerob from @cursor_ai, @bcherny of @claudeai code, @EnoReyes of @FactoryAI, @silasalberti of @cognition, @0xine of @semgrep, Rajesh Bhatia of @Cloudflare , @amasad of @Replit, and @eladgil. All resources will be available online. All classes will be available to the public. 9/22 on Stanford campus. See you in class.  themodernsoftware.dev/
