"Joss is a great guy and Zack picked a good person to come in and finish up for him."
Robert Pattinson says he is so happy that Steven Soderbergh has come on board to help Matt Reeves finish ‘THE BATMAN: PART 2’. “It's incredibly generous of him – and he's doing it in the loveliest way. It's completely selfless. I think they're in production already & I’m starting in a couple of days.” (Source: gamesradar.com/entertainment…)

WB/DC cultivated this toxic environment. They give social credit to the worst of the worst, so studio has a shield against valid criticism.

$250M in production budget and $150M in marketing went into BvS. $450M production budget and around $250M in marketing went into the films on the right.
So far DCU has been a joke at the box office 😭🥀

When you think the competition is the MCU, but in reality, your competition is the Sony-verse 😔
“Clayface” arrived on the lower end of the studio’s expectations of $25 million to $35 million. The antihero adaptation earned another $19 million overseas for a global tally of $43 million. variety.com/2026/film/box-of…

June 2016 Rick Famuyiwa on the Justice League S.T.A.R Labs set, as he was getting ready to shoot The Flash in late 2016 for a 2018 release alongside Aquaman DC Films regime killed the movie 3 months later because they wanted to make Flashpoint, so they can soft reboot the DCEU

#Clayface debuts with $24M stateside Like James Gunn’s previous DC releases, international cash lower at $19M for $43M debut against $44M budget Will need to hold extremely well over the next several weekends to have a shot at breaking even

It didn't recoup its entire production budget though. That'll be when it reaches $90M. Then it'll have to climb to recoup its marketing budget.
DCU is the only universe where a film can have recoup its entire production budget opening weekend...have metrics like a 3.8 on Letterboxd, A- Cinema Score, & a 75/94 split on Rotten Tomatoes and still be called a failure

It's so funny that a small but vocal minority convinced WB to move on from the Snyderverse when it's clear they can't fill theater seats

You literally have Birds Of Prey. That movie made $200M on a $80M budget. Hamada didn't pursue a sequel and that guy was trying to make Wonder Twins. When CBMs reach that $100M-$200M box office range it's considered IP waste.

Yup. Gunn & Safran are in charge since 2022 where Black Adam was clowned on every corner of the Hollywood press for making $400M paving the way for their job. Their DCU crowd in 2026 is bringing around half of that crowd (probably less with inflation). Yikes.
Clay didn't slay. WB's CLAYFACE is the #1 movie in North America w/ a debut of $24M, but the DC brand itself is in a freefall. You know what really sucks: even MORBIUS opened with $39M.

It's all cope from corporate shills Doomsday is going to outgross Supergirl and Clayface worldwide totals with its China opening weekend alone Making a Clayface movie is playing hide and seek to keep your job instead of keeping up with the competition
The budget isn’t really a point worth defending in regards to CLAYFACE. Listen, even MORBIUS debuted with $39M. CLAYFACE, which is drawn from one of the biggest IP brands in the world, dropped with $15M less than Sony's horror spinoff. A lower budget may limit the financial damage, but in no way does it create audience demand. And that's the point. Choosing CLAYFACE as the DCU’s third film was the misstep. Oh, and making 3 out of 4 set in the SUPERMAN universe. Yes, the DC brand is in trouble. What's new?
