begging for a move
🚨 Haaland: “They have an incredible manager. They sold a lot of players, but they still have plenty of good players & even who they put in are good footballers. So I respect them a lot, the way that they have been playing ever since Unai Emery came in — they are doing really well.” #avfc
yet it took him 6 and a half years to win something that wasn’t with emery’s squad. you were 8th and already through in the europa. your spoilt fans just didn’t have the patience to let him pick things back up

bloke managed to get watkins, cash and martinez to villa in one window for less than £60m. something going on at these big 6 clubs which makes a man lose every bit of smart thinking
🚨🎙️ Johan Lange on #THFC’s summer spending; 💰
“After all, these are the same amounts that competitors pay. All clubs’ scouting networks are so good these days that finding a player that others have overlooked, in a league that no one has heard of, for a tenth of the price – that race is over. ❌
It certainly raises expectations (the money spent), but it’s not because I think about it every day. I think all clubs think it’s hard to find good players. ✍️
For people who aren’t into football, it might sound completely insane that there aren’t a lot of players to choose from when you have £80m. But how many players have the quality to justify such an investment?
For every player you buy, you might have three or five clubs you talk to. If we need a right winger, we might be talking about five different players, five clubs, five agents. That’s a lot of balls to keep in the air at the same time.” 🤷♂️

city graduated their fear of the tottenham hotspur stadium and replaced it with a fear of villa park. in fairness villa park is a bit more intimidating
you can’t exactly afford to buy your drivers out of their contracts as a top team
some doing for your worst game to be a draw despite all the other embarrassing results you’ve had. need to watch the highlights of this now
first confirmation of our new leadership team? bouba and pau definitely was expected
Unai Emery: "I don't like to be in the dressing room with them. I am in the stadium dressing room, but at the training ground, maybe only three times have I been in the dressing room. This space is for the players and the captains. They must try to help the players and share the club's and manager's message with the team. John McGinn and Tyrone Mings have been fantastic, as have other captains like Kamara, Buendia, Pau, and Cash. They know the dressing room culture and the message, and they help set the high demands we have in the dressing room."

fair play to viking for bringing so many. didn’t even expect them to sell out lower so them selling the majority of upper is a pleasant surprise. over a thousand of them have made the trip from norway, a trip to the biggest club in europe clearly too good to not take up
