A substantial, and passionate, guidebook to the Offworld Venture. Imagine the future, then make it happen!
My response to the Question about lunar exploration from OSTP. It's also about our future. We are not doomed! denniswingo.wordpress.com/20…

The APL investments APL looks good for starting the Offworld Venture. Whether they/NASA can deliver is an open question. Clearly the economic model they desire is not compatible with SLS costs. So Starship better work and do so at low cost! space.com/rebooting-moon-nas…

33/ Conclusion: I do believe human civilization is on the cusp of moving beyond Earth to establish a bigger, more capable, more exciting world. When we can stop relying solely on Earth for all our economic resources, we have reached the turning point. We are very close. /end🧵.
This is awesome. See following tweets as well.
How to extract metal, oxygen, and pure silica from raw regolith (moon dust), by solar melting it with a sodium-based flux: a presentation at tomorrow's Space Resources Roundtable (SRR) by my awesome student Joren Bowling, on work we've been doing with @LucasSa54749430 on #ISRU🧵

The value prop of the offworld venture, succinctly.

There is no pollution more dangerous to human flourishing than the belief in the zero-sum-game, that all we can do is fight over the scraps instead of making more pie. If space lifts that illusion, it's worth 100 times what we spend on it.

CSMC is very excited to announce that we were awarded a contract by the @csa_asc to help shape a vision for the future of the Canadian space program on the moon and beyond. CSMC believes Canada will lead the world in space resources, for the benefit of the life on earth. #ISRU

Great @BLal quote: “In situ resource utilization will almost certainly be required for any sustainable human presence of humanity in space. However, the trillionaires aren’t coming for a while.”
As always, ⁦@jeff_foust⁩ gets to the heart of the matter! Great read. thespacereview.com/article/4…
Per USAF: “Bottom line, chemical and solar-based systems won’t provide the power needed for future DoD missions.”

And: "The idea is to begin preparing now for a future in which the material trapped in the Sun's vicinity is available for incorporation into our way of life."
This speech never gets old. "As I see it, questions about the vision boil down to whether we want to incorporate the Solar System in our economic sphere, or not." Marburger spaceref.com/news/viewsr.htm…

Absolutely!
Jerry Sanders, Lead for In-Situ Resource Utilization (#ISRU) at @NASA: "ISRU doesn't exist on its own, it has to be part of a bigger picture. You need #power systems, #transportation systems, maintenance, etc.". #SpaceResWeek #Luxembourg

Congrats to @USNCTech on the award of a NASA Phase II SBIR. This is critical path technology for the offworld venture!
We're excited to announce that NASA has selected our team at @USNCTech to build a proposed ultra-high temperature component testing facility to support the advancement of NTP technology. usnc.com/nasa-selects-ultra-… #space #nuclear #spacenuclear #nuclearjobs #NTP

Every time I see yet another material added to the long/growing list of 3D printables, I also see another piece of a self-sustaining, ISRU-based off world economy snap into place.
