HAPPY COUNTY CRICKET DAY!!!
What is county cricket all about?
It’s about enjoying our incredible, silly sport in unique, storied venues the length and breadth of the land, becoming part of a community and sharing unforgettable moments with friends old and new. It’s gently tribal cricket that’s been passed down from one generation to the next.
The story of the game is woven with the thread of county cricket.
So cherish it, enjoy it, support it and help grow it! Help ensure it’s still there to be passed on, because it’s incredibly special.

No more beautiful sight in #cricket - unless your facing him 😬😬😬#Michaelholding
Yo, when we talk about the greatest fast bowlers ever, legendary Michael Holding has to be in the conversation every single time.
That run-up was like poetry. It was smooth, silent, and then pure lighting. There’s a reason they called him the 'Whispering Death.' You didn't hear him coming until the ball was whistling past your ears at serious pace.
That '76 over at the Oval is still one of the most terrifying things ever caught on camera. No answer. No escape. It was just effortless destruction.
249 Test wickets at 23.68, and he did it with the most beautiful action the game has ever seen. Massive respect to a pioneer of the game. 🇯🇲🫡

I’ve got that Friday evening feeling even though it’s only Thursday. It might even be time for a tasty beverage…
An oh! What is this? My copy of Playfair 2026 has just arrived — thank you @IanPlayfair
Now, it’s just a matter of the weather and counting down the hours.

“The England tour of Australia was embarrassing and at times a farce but nobody is laughing now.
The worst pre-planned Ashes tour in my lifetime, and nobody is held to account or to blame? In the famous words of John McEnroe: “You cannot be serious.”

‘Leopards don’t change their spots'
~ Geoffrey Boycott
He wrote in his article for The Telegraph
“It is ludicrous nobody has lost their job after shameful Ashes.
For the ECB to clear Rob Key & McCullum without guarantees that things will change is an insult to England cricket fans.”
