Tareing and feathering can be done in three different stages of heating the tar.
1) 2nd degree burns resulting in weeks of pain and months of humiliation.
2) 2nd and 3rd degree burns resulting in scars and disfigurement to select locations, and years of pain and humiliation.
3) fatal burns with varying lengths of pain and your corpse strung up like a chicken to be humiliated.
Just think it's important how varied the process can be.
There's an election today, and I'm reminded that poland is probably still in the middle of settling a couple d'etat from just a few days ago that has disappeared from my feed, and when I search for it I just see vague mentions of German police being brought into Poland by Tusk?!?

You can cancel an election and ban the winner from running (Romania), you can ban your opponents from ever running again (Hungary), you can threaten to ban the main opposition party and subject it to relentless investigations by the secret police (Germany), you can threaten a ban on the leading presidential candidate and make them wear an ankle monitor (France), every member of your circle can be investigated for corruption (Spain), you can try and cancel local elections because you will lose them (Britain), and you can storm the constitutional court with riot police because you want to control it (Poland).
You can just do all these things. The secret is you just have to be on the right side of the European Commission.

Every norm break in my life time has been from the DNC. Mass immigration was a norm break, and attempt to skew the elections. Borking was an attempt to get around the majority appointments, packing the courts, adding states, preemptive pardons, mass nationwide rioting, arresting the opposition party leader, one norm after another knocked down in the pursuit of power. How many of these things do they think they can do before the system breaks? Do they even think about it?
My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will:
1. Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate.
2. Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority.
3. Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority.
This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word.
All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one.

If being on campus does nothing, then getting banned from campus isn't much of a punishment.
But more like "you won't do anything. You wouldn't dirty your hands. You aren't willing to suffer personally. Someone might try, but they'll fail. We're still here after you started killing people. We'll always be here. Those who try will end up in prison, their coconspirators will be in prison. We'll still be here."
