It’s no secret this administration is racist and xenophobic, but I expected better from a man who undoubtedly often finds himself in a familiar vote: stereotyped because he has a name that sounds foreign.
If political opponents want to challenge El-Sayed, they have plenty of legitimate options: debate his healthcare policies, foreign policy views, economic proposals, or record in public office.
But questioning the immigration status of someone born in Michigan only makes the attack look careless and uninformed.
