A look back at the fall and rise of Edmonton Oilers netminder Grant Fuhr circa 1989-91 thehockeywriters.com/grant-f… @TheHockeyWriter #THW

I'll always love Esa!! The guy who became a star for this team and so few remember. An all-time Oiler to be sure and one all fans should brush up on. #Oilers

I thought he'd give Dickinson Formenton and Jospeh. I'm actually ok with Howard and Jospeh as the two wingers.

Gotta say, I'm happy to see the small goalie making a comeback. Postava showed well last night, Levi has been solid for the Oilers. Add in the likes of Greaves and Wolf in recent years. Suddenly the 6'5" blocker is no longer an automatic in NHL nets. Love it!!!

I've always been in the minority when it comes to 97's ice time. I don't think giving McDavid 25 a night is an issue. He can handle it. Not a big fan of the PK time but injuries. Oilers players need roles & a spot to succeed. Taking mins from Connor isn't how that happens.

It's one game but Mukhamadullin looked like a completely different player with Bouchard. If we see the same thing against Calgary, how doesn't Walman become the odd man out when Ekholm returns?

Tom is 100% correct

I don't agree how Howard is used, I am not surprised by it. With the Oilers availability situation being what it is, not sure why Frederic isn't in the middle six every game. Babcock mentioned them telling him what their expectations are but he's better than the other b6 guys.

My guess, we see the following Oilers lines against the Flames: Podkolzin - McDavid - Draisaitl Dach - RNH - Kapanen Formenton - Dickinson - Joseph Howard - Michaels - Frederic Though it wouldn't shock me in the least if Jones comes in as well.

Side note, how good is Moritz Seider? Every damn time I watch the Wings play, I can't take my eyes off that dude. How good would that guy look on the Oilers and every other blueline in the league. He is a monster.

Sucks for the Oilers to give up the extra point but it's impossible to not be thrilled for Postava. Again, he was rock solid all night and got stronger as things moved along. Take a bow sir!!

Postava has played his ass off. Tip of the cap young man.

This notion of having 97, 29 & 92 out in every situation needs to stop. They need to be the closeout line as well? C'mon now #Oilers

Who would've guessed Dach was more effective on the wing 😉

At what point does Babcock actually pay attention to what Formenton is doing out there.Come on coach. #LetsGoOilers

How awesome was that!!! Howard calling for that damn puck. Great feed by Kapanen #LetsGoOilers

Postava is showing the hype surrounding him is warranted. The kid looks rock solid.

Until they get Dickinson back, there is no reason for the Oilers to not run 97, 29 & 93 on separate lines: 53 - 97 - 18 92 - 29 - 42 34 - 93 - 10 19 - 43 - 21 Something along these lines and throwing Howard a bone after benching him would be smart.

That goal means nothing but Jarry's lack of belief in himself is a problem. The Oilers can't function like this for three weeks.

It's as if whatever can go wrong does go wrong for Jarry in this barn. It's now well beyond the point of absurdity. Regardless, it's a thing and the Oilers have to find a way around it until Levi comes back.
