You also remembered how expensive it was at the beginning because industries weren’t the first adopters. People have been screaming about Band A for like a year plus now. Quick reality check
“No need to bring telecommunications into Nigeria because very few people can afford phones” …this is how people sound when they imply that Nigerians won’t be able to pay for constant electricity. When Obasanjo fixed telecommunications very few people could afford phones, today that single decision has created MoniePoint, paystack, remote work, people had the internet to even learn how to code or make money online - etc. a single decision that changed your life. And today almost everyone can afford a phone. Stop making excuses for these politicians; there are things that haven’t happened in your life yet because Nigeria doesn’t have stable power. Once it is introduced it begins to happen.

What’s our generation capacity sef? Let’s start from there. Then transmission & distribution. You’ll need about $30bn to kick start the thing. Metering is another nightmare. Power theft in Naija is ridiculous that disco’s loses over 30 percent of revenue to power theft alone.
