I don't believe for a moment that the top concern of voters is corruption in government. I don't think anybody cares about that at all (sadly). I assume they primarily mean "the other party being in power."

Annual reminder that the meaning of Halloween is that the forces of Hell can roam for a set and limited time before they are driven out by the invincible army of all the Saints.
How should Christians approach Halloween?
Christians tend to fall into four different camps when it comes to participating in Halloween:
- Total abstinence
- Full participation
- Partial participation
- Redemptive participation
Some abstain from Halloween altogether. Others fully participate in the festivities, while some enjoy the family fun without participating in the glorification of evil.
I believe the better alternative is redemptive participation.
My mom has set this example for me for years. She uses Halloween as an opportunity to share the gospel by attaching Bible verses to candy, making Scripture signs for her front lawn, and sharing the love of Jesus with the families who come to her door.
As she says, “What other time of year do you have people coming to your home and asking you for something? This is like the easiest evangelism opportunity possible.”
A night associated with darkness can actually be an opportunity to shine the light of Christ.
Surprised more conservatives aren't interested in the question: men and women being different, is putting nonviolent women (including mothers) in jail a good way of accomplishing what prison is nominally there to do?
Elizabeth Holmes’s crimes were egregious. But far fewer women, with or without children, should be incarcerated at all, writes Tyler Cowen. thefp.com/p/tyler-cowen-eliz…
I just saw a Bo Burnham reference and man, remember when people thought he was some kind of philosopher you should listen to or something and not just a comedian who is pretty good?

As a dog returns to its vomit, so the vice president returns to congratulating himself for his willingness to lie.
Vance: The media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The ad features Amy Acton's estranged mother disputing Acton's account of childhood homelessness, rape and abuse. Both 1978 Mahoning County court records and Acton's brother, Phillip Stearns, corroborate her account of living in a tent and abuse.

It's certainly true that a lot of people have turned being not being able to even into their entire personality.
People are obviously having real problems with the cost of energy and long-term housing shortages, but I don't think the level of negativity compared to 2008 can possibly be explained in purely material terms.
