Investigations have uncovered billions of naira funneled toward fake agencies, ghost projects, and religious buildings, which falls outside the federal government's legal mandate. Government departments are reportedly being used to siphon public funds through the procurement of luxury vehicles and irrelevant empowerment schemes while essential infrastructure remains neglected. To assuage the public angst over this, PREMIUM TIMES demands a critical review of this budget to excise its glaring dubious provisions. Otherwise, it would remain an indelible pointer to insensitive and profligate governance, robbing citizens of their taxes, and deepening the perverse culture of public treasury looting. bit.ly/4hm1iDV

In the 2024 FG Budget, N4billion was allocated to the Construction of Student Hostel at FUTA, Ondo state. Out of which, N149.9m was paid to PITCH GLOBAL SERVICES LTD in Dec 2025. We tracked and report that this project has been abandoned for almost 1year. Construction was done up to the lintel level, but the structure is now buried in overgrown bushes. Also, contractors, workers or machinery were not found on site. We call on @NigEducation, the implementing agency, to provide the public with details of this project and facilitate its completion.

🚨 N962.83 Billion for SUVs and Empowerment Projects Exceeds the Combined Budget of Seven Key Federal Ministries in the 2026 Budget Our review of the 2026 FG Budget uncovered another troubling pattern of opaque spending. 🚙 39 SUVs - N15.13 bn 👥 2,579 Empowerment Projects - N947.7 bn Total: N962.83 bn This is more than the combined N960.27bn allocation to seven key Federal Ministries: 🏭 Industry, Trade & Investment - N156.8bn 🏘️ Housing - N145.3bn 👩 Women Affairs - N169.39bn ⚖️ Justice - N150.7bn 🐄 Livestock Development - N177.6bn ✈️ Aviation & Aerospace Development - N87.3bn 🪔 Petroleum Resources - N73.1bn Yet, only 70 of the 2,579 empowerment projects have clearly identified implementation locations. This raises serious accountability concerns: 📍 How can citizens track projects with no stated location? 🔍 How can oversight institutions verify implementation? 💰 How can taxpayers know who ultimately benefits from these allocations? The concerns don't end there, these projects are spread across 184 implementing agencies, many of which have no statutory mandate to execute empowerment programmes. Leading agencies 👇 📌 @fedccojiriver - 393 projects worth N127.1bn 📌 National Agricultural Development Fund - 6 projects worth N89.5bn 📌 @Fchdkgombe - 216 projects worth N88.1bn 📌 @officialfccib - 94 projects worth N36.9bn Let us be clear, there is nothing inherently wrong with empowerment programmes! When well-designed and transparently implemented, they can improve livelihoods, create economic opportunities, and support vulnerable Nigerians. However, experience over the years has shown that many poorly defined empowerment projects have become vehicles for political patronage, rewarding loyalists rather than delivering broad-based benefits to citizens. When projects have no clear location, no transparent beneficiary selection process, and are assigned to agencies without the appropriate mandate, public confidence is eroded, and accountability becomes difficult. This concern is even more pressing given that the 2026 Budget is projected to be financed with a deficit of about 46%. At a time when government is borrowing heavily to fund public expenditure, every naira should be directed toward investments with clear development outcomes, measurable impact, and value for money, not opaque allocations that citizens cannot effectively track. A budget should not only allocate resources, it should also inspire public confidence. Every budget item should have a clear purpose, a defined location, an implementing agency with the legal mandate to deliver it, identifiable beneficiaries, and measurable outcomes. 📄 The comprehensive list of these allocations is available on our website 👉yourtracka.org/ng/documents #Publicfundsmustworkforthegoodofthepeople #Askquestions

I have just finished reading the judgment of @fcthighcourt earlier this month awarding N100m against @SERAPNigeria for defamation. To call this judgment a travesty is to do injustice to travesties. The facts do not add up to a case in defamation. To the extent that anything was made out, even the evidence by the claimants supports the claim by @SERAPNigeria that their office was invaded. It is, of course, possible that the judge did not study law or, perhaps, that the judge chose to administer something other than law in this case. But, if this judgment was issued in the name of law, then all I can say is that the judgment is corrupt and crooked on the face of the record.

We Have Lost the Judiciary Whenever I converse with Judges i feel more distressed about Nigeria. This judge accosted me about my attacks against them. She revealed to me how the honest judges cannot breathe. They have no career path as long as they are honest. She was skipped for the Court of Appeal because she is not corrupt. Many suffer the same fate The truth is that heads of judiciary have sold the sector to criminal politicians. Honest judges have no future in Nigerian judiciary except we rise and displace the criminal caste ruling Nigeria. It is a bipartisan caste

How about the NASS send a bill on #compulsorybetterlife for Nigerians instead? Any government at all levels that can’t provide affordable food for the people, public safety, functional education, health, water, and power should pack up and go after six months!
A Senior Nigerian advocate, Olisa Agbakoba, has condemned the House of Representatives' move to make voting compulsory for all Nigerians, arguing that voter apathy is a result of bad governance, not a lack of civic duty. thewhistler.ng/ive-not-benef…

The story of banditry is a simple & complex one: Years of neglect of rural areas; inequality; competition for scarce resources due to climatic changes, etc, which then birthed ethnic rivalry, absence of transitional justice & failure of state to push back.

Nigeria's political class has used power to become extremely wealthy, made politics an expensive game to block new entrants and control the masses using identity markers of division - ethnicity, religion and region. This must change.

“The electorates in Africa don’t respond to ideas; they’re moved by instantaneous gratification”. Bread. Cash. Stomach infrastructure, as is now popular in naija. We must avoid mobilizing electorates to collect PVC for instant gratification!
