That fog in the first picture from @cccti is what settles & stays in the @OnTheWatauga river valley and Valle Crucis, NC. It cleared this morning around 10:00 AM which is common this time of year with the longer nights. Low this morning of 35 & heading to the upper 60’s. #ncwx

The @OnTheWatauga is definitely out of its banks this morning but to me it looks like the river restoration project headed by @ForkBrushy did what it was supposed to do by keeping more of the river within the banks and reducing erosion in Valle Crucis, NC.

Watauga River near Sugar Grove NC at about 3300 cfs this morning. Before the rains started yesterday, the river was sitting around 40 cfs.

Just before midnight, Valle Crucis has had 2.25 inches of rain for the day with Boone over 3” for the day. Boone has reported moderate or heavy rain continuously for the last 8 hours. #ncwx

The @OnTheWatauga river in Valle Crucis is flowing very nicely with recent rains. Another foggy August morning. I feel like we are going to see many more foggy starts to the day with this pattern of wash, rinse and repeat.
