Gerard Deulofeu has been out of action since January 2023 after suffering a serious knee injury 💔🩼 The 31-year-old hasn’t played since, enduring almost 1,000 days of recovery, setbacks and relentless work. What began as an ACL tear turned into one of football’s toughest battles after surgery in Rome caused a severe infection that destroyed part of his cartilage, leaving bone rubbing against bone in his knee, and even putting his long-term mobility at risk 😭 Every morning, Deulofeu trains alone at Udinese’s facility, rebuilding strength and belief 💪 🗣 "I know I’m trying something special. Maybe it’s the most difficult recovery in history. But if there’s one guy to do it, it’s me" Udinese have stood by him, and Deulofeu still dreams of one more game in black and white ⚽🖤 'When I step back on that pitch, this stadium will be full. It’ll be a party" ♥
