Army Veteran Jennifer reached out about receiving a Supply Crate because she's had a difficult time enjoying activities post-service due to a back injury.
I joined the Army back in 2008. I was then injured shortly after while on base. My life has been impacted due to this injury. My back injury keeps me from doing alot of physical things. I am unable to run, jump, and me active. Since not being very active I have fallen into deep depression, loss of friends, not having a normal marriage, and not having children. This is hard for me to be the person I used to be. Before the military I was very active in shooting sports, upland game hunting with my dad, being able to walk my home town with no issues. Now I can only hunt from a ground blind during deer season, I can't walk my hometown anymore, shooting sports have came to a halt since I had to have my husband lock away my guns when I sank into depression. I was being treated by the VA and I am one of the Veterans that fell through the cracks. I haven't been able to get an appointment scheduled since 2010. I keep getting passed around from department to department then voicemail but no return calls. I have been trying to battle my depression on my own with the help of my husband at times. This is hard for me since I used to be an outgoing person and now I am just a hermit. I don't like how I have just hidden myself away. I hope to make friends someday but hard for me when I don't know how too. I know my story is long maybe not as long as others. I do volunteer time to my local Legion on Monday nights helping make tacos in the kitchen. I would like to do more for my fellow brothers and sisters. But I also need to think about myself sometimes.
Thanks to the 9th Assault Corps for supporting this gaming care package through fundraising!

Navy Veteran Samuel reached out about receiving a console because gaming is something he's been enjoying with his children.
"Gaming has become a special way for my children and me to connect and spend quality time together. It gives us something to look forward to and allows me to truly be present with them. We enjoy teaming up, working together, and challenging others, which strengthens our bond and creates lasting memories. Receiving a Supply Crate would enhance these moments, providing us with the tools to continue sharing these experiences and building our connection through gaming."
Shout out to the members of the Stack Up Stream Team for supporting yet another Supply Crate!

Why video games? The numbers of gamers are growing everyday! So are the numbers of those who use gaming to cope with tough days, stress and help them better their mental health through gaming communities.
👉80% of worldwide gamers say gaming helps them feel less stressed
👉64% play to deal with feelings of isolation and to connect with others.
👉72% play for a healthy outlet from everyday challenges
👉62% play games to help them cope with difficult times in their lives.
👉More than half are playing with other people online and a third are playing with other people in person, making friends, connecting with family, and meeting new people.

Army Veteran Bo was nominated for a Supply Crate because he'd been having some struggles and had to sell his game consoles and games.
"Good morning, the supply crate request is for Bo, an Army Cavalry Scout veteran who was deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa. Due to multiple military injuries and disabilities, he is not able to do a lot of physical or outdoor hobbies, and has high anxiety when it comes to being in public and with crowds of people. He use to be an active gamer and had a lot of good friends he had met online, he fell into pretty hard times and had to sell his gaming consoles and games for money. He has desired to get back into gaming but due to the cost of gaming consoles, games and accessories, just does not have the money to purchase a system. I am making this request to hopefully find a way to provide these items to get him back into a hobby he loved and to be able to make those connections and friendships again. I appreciate you taking time to read this, and thank you for the opportunity to be able to help this veteran."
Shout out to @ChefSteve330 for supporting this Supply Crate and helping us get Bo back to gaming!

Collaboration Announcement:
Military gaming charity Stack Up is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, supporting over 71,000 U.S. and allied veterans through gaming and geek culture! Whether sending game consoles to units deployed overseas and those struggling back home, or helping keep veterans connected with mental health game nights, Stack Up continues to support the troops, keeping smiles on the faces of the veterans who stood up and fought for this country.
We’re proud to collaborate with Stack Up in support of the veterans within our community and to help raise awareness for the incredible work they do. As a veteran-owned business with veterans on our team, this partnership means a great deal to us. We’re especially honored that this collaboration features dice designed by a veteran, using our Dragon Blood Jasper gemstone, making this project even more meaningful.

Why do we post so many Supply Crate Updates and images with the stories of the Veterans and Active Military units who receive our gaming care packages?
We want to show all the good work we do. Every year, our directors, managers, influencer relations team, volunteers and sponsors work hard to support our mission and benefit as many people as we can through video games and especially through these care packages because we have experienced how much gaming and gaming communities can make a positive difference. This is not just anecdotal, there's also research that supports how gaming can be used as a tool in the recovery of over Veterans and Active Military units.
For all of the month of May, we'll be showing our appreciation of our servicemembers and Veterans with daily Supply Crate Updates. We hope you'll uplift these folks, share their stories, and leave positive comments this Military Appreciation and Mental Health Awareness Month.
