I really love our campus and its atmosphere @WUR, but some places are still a thorn in the side. Today, I even observed live mosquito larvae in the water of this ‘pond’ underneath our auditorium (Omnia). More greenness will promote natural enemies. @KarenKloth as witness ;).

Anopheles stephensi Has Now Crossed the Equator
~
Researchers in Kenya have unexpectedly discovered the invasive malaria mosquito during an unrelated survey of viruses in the western city of Kisumu. The finding represents the first detection of these mosquitoes south of the Equator. The Researcher suggest that the presence of this mosquito species in Africa may be under-reported and that molecular methods and confirmatory testing are required to fully capture the vector's boundary.
