WoW Forever Beta closed today, but I'm here to keep the Booty wide open. So here's Escape from Stranglethorn. WoW meets Escape from Tarkov. A little something to keep you world PvP degens off the streets. Full action combat. Aim your spells, dodge attacks, kill mobs for loot and kill players to steal their shit. Then try to make it back to the Booty Bay alive.

I work with many neurodiverse kids and I can see @spawn opening so many doors. No more gatekeeping.
I have a close friend whose son has a rare genetic disorder that causes full muscle atrophy and immobility. Last night she sent me videos of him using @spawn and creating games using his accessibility setup on his iPad. This where I don't understand the AI hate because something like Spawn allows him to have a voice and be a fully equal contender in the game development space. There is no immobility on Spawn, he is just like the rest of us making cool games and sharing his voice in a way that isn't possible in his daily life. All he's ever wanted to do is be a game developer and now he is; dreams literally coming true. Think about him the next time you go on an anti AI tirade

I think something that might be a little overlooked or maybe it's just the people I'm talking to about working on @spawn is the ability to develop your own tools and workflows. Like I'm pretty sure I'm reinventing the wheel for many of these things that devs have been using for years. But in a sense when you just download someone else's tool, you have to kind of in a way understand how their design process works and learn the whole tool like from scratch. Whereas, because the power of spawn you can literally pick the parts these tools to suit your thought process and work flows exactly customized on how you need it to work.

introducing spawn numbers. we gave Savi a new job: your game’s data scientist. she can figure out why players leave, help fix it, and check whether they’re having fun for longer.

Spent 2 hours with the fam on Spawn Discord tonight playtesting what is arguably primed to be the best original new IP playable in browser. People are gonna play this game for years! Rifts is a three-team PvPvE hero arena where, mid-round, you rift to another universe and fight to defeat the boss awaiting you on the other side, The first team that defeats their boss comes back triumphant with a power boost to keep dominating the opponents. Man, that was fun!

Bro what. I just started the dragon age one...
The Karen Council at BioWare rejected my proposal for a Mass Effect MMO. Now they're no longer a studio, and unfortunately for them, I still have the power of vibes. So here's Max Effect. The Citadel as a multiplayer hub, PvEvP extraction missions, an open zone with quests and loot, plus 6v6 payload and 12-player FFA. Proposal approved.

oh yeah because its @spawn you can just play right on @X
Fun fact about @spawn #154: It's almost too easy to start with a tech demo / system for your main game and have it spin into a whole new game itself. I wanted to make a better dismemberment system for One Hit Kill. So I made a new zone to do some testing. Now Slice and Sever exists! - Find some friends - Go into the dungeon - Kick your friends or kick the goblins - Cut everything up - Die - Do it again - Have some dumb fun Play free in your browser:

Quick! Before Nintendo sees this, I ported Super Smash Brothers 64 into your web browser. Free to play and fully multiplayer. It's a little jank, but a ton of fun. AI game developers are unstoppable. Link below to play on @spawn ... don't pick Link though, he's mine.

Socrates warned against the spread of writing and the subsequent loss of the ability to memorise. Plato’s Phaedrus, written in about 370 BC, takes the form of a dialogue between Socrates and Phaedrus, an Athenian aristocrat. Socrates quoted the God Thamus, on the topic of writing: "For this invention will produce forgetfulness in the minds of those who learn to use it, because they will not practice their memory. Their trust in writing, produced by external characters which are no part of themselves, will discourage the use of their own memory within them." Thamus went on to say: "You have invented an elixir not of memory, but of reminding; and you offer your pupils the appearance of wisdom, not true wisdom, for they will read many things without instruction and will therefore seem to know many things, when they are for the most part ignorant and hard to get along with, since they are not wise, but only appear wise."
It's hilarious how linear people keep their thinking out of fear. Perhaps they haven't been online long enough to see protests at every advancement. "The internet is silly, people will prefer books" "No one will ever use their credit card online!" "Digital animation will never replace hand drawn frames" and so on.
