There are 2 options, both are good for Putin. 1) Russia attacks Europe, both exchange missile- and drone strikes for a short time with few states. Most of NATO doesn't intervene out of cowardice. Russia pressures stop of hostilities on conditions of blockading Ukraine and Baltic lands of any help. -> NATO is humiliated once again and practically destroyed, the same with the EU, Ukraine and Baltic Countries are lost, Putin's regime gets a huge boost. 2) Russia attacks Europe, by some miracle (0,1% chance IMO), the states organize a consolidated answer against the aggression, fight back with determination and united (sounds impossible, but let's hope). As there's barely a force to cover borders with Russia, no significant changes on the frontline, except, maybe Kaliningrad and Murmansk direction (I believe in Finns). Ukraine becomes a part of the defensive block with the EU. Sooner or later Russia calls for ceasefire and peace, which will be gladly accepted by Europe on almost any conditions - as the drones will harass the EU constantly. Russia will claim (they already do) a "victory, protecting itself from European aggression, despite fighting them all" (facts matter not in the land of 1st Channel), population is happy with peace, Putin's regime gains a huge boost in popularity. (Internally it will learn and adapt and come back with a better army in 15 years). I see no favourable outcomes for the EU in any case. Not until it learns to unite, builds a force capable of cleansing Russia from the pest (same as happened with Germany), wins completely and takes care to change their eastern neighbor from a hostile one to a friend. Otherwise, the history will repeat itself every time Russia has a populistic maniac on the throne, while Europe has a bunch of cowardly buerocrats in the government. It doesn't mean Russia will win anything, but as they don't value lives, the death will reign over the continent forever, until the problem is fixed. And no Maginot Line 2.0 will help.

Ich glaube, es wäre eine gute Idee, unsere Ansichten einmal zu systematisieren und zu strukturieren. Ich habe den Eindruck, dass hier viele Menschen zusammengekommen sind, die die aktuelle Situation ähnlich wahrnehmen und in vielen grundlegenden Fragen ähnlich denken und fühlen. Unsere Beiträge und Ideen sollten aber nicht nur der gegenseitigen Bestätigung dienen – nach dem Motto: „Gut zu wissen, dass ich mit meiner Meinung nicht allein bin.“ Daraus könnte und sollte mehr entstehen: eine moderne, vernünftige und verständliche politische Plattform. Ich bin überzeugt, dass Deutschland eine neue demokratische Partei der politischen Mitte braucht – eine Partei, die eine glaubwürdige Alternative zu Populismus und Radikalismus bieten kann. Mein Vorschlag wäre, ganz einfach anzufangen: Wir könnten zum Beispiel ein gemeinsames Google-Dokument erstellen und dort zunächst Thesen, Gedanken und Ideen sammeln – im Grunde einen offenen „Backlog“ unserer Ideen. Anschließend könnten wir diese gemeinsam diskutieren, ordnen, weiterentwickeln und präziser formulieren. Das Ziel wäre zunächst nicht, ein fertiges Parteiprogramm zu schreiben. Vielmehr könnten wir versuchen, Schritt für Schritt eine gemeinsame politische Grundlage zu entwickeln, in der Menschen ihre eigenen Werte, Vorstellungen und Erwartungen an ein demokratisches und modernes Deutschland wiederfinden können.

Grundsätzlich sollte man im Umgang mit Organisationen, die direkt oder indirekt mit den Regierungen autoritärer Staaten wie Russland, China, Iran oder Nordkorea verbunden sind, große Vorsicht walten lassen. Gleichzeitig halte ich es für sehr wichtig, klar zwischen den Menschen zu unterscheiden, die gerade vor solchen Regimen nach Europa geflohen sind, und Organisationen bzw. Vertretungen, die diese Regierungen – in welcher Form auch immer – repräsentieren oder deren Interessen vertreten. Natürlich kann es auch unter Geflüchteten einzelne Personen geben, die als Einflussagenten tätig sind oder Verbindungen zu Sicherheits- und Nachrichtendiensten solcher Staaten haben. Das darf man nicht ignorieren. Die überwältigende Mehrheit sind jedoch gewöhnliche Menschen, die mit der autoritären Politik ihrer Herkunftsländer nichts zu tun haben und sie häufig gerade deshalb verlassen haben. Bei Organisationen hingegen, die nachweislich direkt oder indirekt im Auftrag solcher Regierungen handeln, ist eine wesentlich kritischere Haltung angebracht. Hier sollte man grundsätzlich davon ausgehen, dass sie zumindest auch der Durchsetzung der politischen und strategischen Interessen des jeweiligen Staates dienen. Diese beiden Gruppen miteinander gleichzusetzen, wäre aus meiner Sicht ein schwerwiegender Fehler: Wachsamkeit gegenüber staatlichen Einflussstrukturen ist notwendig – pauschales Misstrauen gegenüber Menschen aufgrund ihrer Herkunft ist es nicht.

Brandmauer won‘t hold regardless of financial politics. As long as „the good ones“ keep ignoring „the bad ones“, catastrophe is inevitable and no „Linie Maginot / Brandmauer“ will help. It‘s ignorance, incompetence and cowardice of CDU, SPD and every other governing party that created and raised AfD. And the analogy with the WWII are correct: as long as the integrity of the society is hindered, the rise of new evil populists is just a matter of time. Similar to the rise of Trump and his disgusting neo-fascists in the US, it’s 100% the responsibility of the dems. And AfD is the ugly child of FDP/CDU/SPD/Greens. It‘s not the financial situation that made people into AfD voters, it’s the absence of alternative to the incompetent clique of buerocrats. AfD won‘t do any better in government, of course - as they’re flawed by design (see Trump‘s reign of chaos for example). The system will destroy itself until a new model is found. A model, where bright, talented and intelligent people will govern — instead of „established party members“, whos only talent is to sneak through the right doors. A system, that has is not trying to put highly sophisticated and complex societies in the primitive artificial boxes of „mindset“ created by incompetent bureaucrats. A system, that responses. A system, that understands, that ignoring - even dumb and stupid, faked and barbaric - fears and needs of a minorities is similar to ignoring small fire in the room. Because a few moments later the whole house will be on fire. Solving those problems was too difficult for the german establishment. They prefered to ignore them and to build a brandmauer. Build more levels of Maginot line. Surely, it will stop the enemy.

We have common grounds and most probably share a lot of vision, but I find your proposed solutions being most primitive, platitudinous and dangerous for the very society you (I think so) try to protect. Watching you running with a canister of gasoline and matches around a house just because there a some cockroaches is highly disturbing. Yes, there are problems, directly connected to the mass migration from the societies with low and barbaric cultural level. Yes, those problems exist and must be addressed ASAP. No, the problem is not the migration itself, nor the nationals, nor the homosexuals, nor the muslims/jews/catholics/agnostics/etc. You can’t help anyone (including yourself) by just saying „ah, it’s all too complicated, we need a simple general silver bullet“. You know it doesn’t exist even if the way is highly appealing. There are certain qualities, that form a modern western society and they are moral and intellectual qualities - not the racial or any other generalistic ethnographic marking. If you want to address islamists and their terror, focus on reforming islam and setting laws that clearly prohibit anti-social propaganda, but don’t just run after anyone called Mohammed. If you want to reduce the number of uncivilised foreigners on the streets, then pay attention to those that are let in, make a filter, that separates a savage idiot from a humble and fair person (yes, it’s quite possible), but don’t just shout xenophobic slogans. If you want (and here you‘ll have my full support) to provide help to people, who stand for international laws and are opposed to barbarism of Putin - then form your filters accordingly, as in the war in Ukraine I‘ve seen enough of both nationals fighting on both sides. But, and it’s most important - if you want Europe and the society to prevail, by Gods love, stop sewing primitive generalistic ideas in the heads of the masses. The tasks I described are waaaay more complicated, than just shouting „Repatriation!! Muslims!! Jews!! Aaa!!“. We have to handle complicated tasks or we’re all doomed to return to the same bloody page of human‘s history, when „final solutions“ turn into the ruins of the european cities. (And because I‘m absolutely no kidding when I say this time we‘ll be fighting back).
