Now on Route 981 from Hibiscus Coast to Waiwera via Orewa. Operates every 60 minutes through to Waiwera. Scenic route along the old coastal highway. – at Auckland, New Zealand

Made it to Hibiscus Coast station. Gave myself time to have a coffee, cluster of spots 3 minutes walk away across Painton Road. Chose Fa bakery, amazing collection of pastries. – at Auckland, New Zealand

Off to Wenderholm Regional Park this afternoon, by public transport. Train to Waitemata, now on NX1 to Hibiscus Station.

Bus to the beach. Route 83 at Murray's Bay. Runs every 15 minutes from Takapuna to Albany via Campbells, Mairangi, Murrays & Browns Bay. Change from NX1/NX2 at Constellation station. – at Auckland, New Zealand

So easy to transfer between trains and North Shore buses now. From outside Te Waihorotiu Route 82 runs every 15 minutes to Takapuna & Milford, & NX2 at least every 15 minutes to Albany via the busway. – at Auckland, New Zealand

Busy morning at Maungawhau market. Open until 2pm.

If you're not by a train line, Routes 22, 24, 25, 27, 64, 295, 30 & 309 all will drop you off minutes away on Mt Eden Rd, New North Road or Khyber Pass Road. – at Auckland, New Zealand
