This past year has been one of the most insightful and humbling of my life. Alongside some of the highest highs in my career, I have faced more critique, criticism, and opposition than ever before. At times it has been uncomfortable--even disheartening--but looking back, I cannot help but feel that success and criticism are deeply connected. On paper, it has been an unforgettable year. Being a part of two top-rated TV shows (and filming a third show which you'll be hearing more about in 2025 😉 ), launching a best-selling book, hosting a top-ranked podcast, and investing in a football team have all been moments of deep gratitude. However, I have realized that the more visible your work becomes, the more it invites opinions, both positive and negative. And, while criticism can sting, it is also a sign that what you are saying or doing is stirring something in others. Silence, I've learned, is the real thing to fear. Not opposition. As I step into 2025, I am leaning into this lesson, and my hope for you is this: do not shy away from the discomfort of criticism. Let It refine your voice, clarify your purpose, and remind you that meaningful work rarely happens without resistance. 💪🏾
