If better execution comes at the cost of fragmented liquidity or UX, it’s not better execution. Real infra is the one users don't notice. @OpenBitLab on building the engine for Solana @perps:

CEX-scale volume. RWAs. Tokenized equities. Institutional capital. Stablecoins. Payments. Solana has become the home of internet capital markets. As our ecosystem matures, the next phase is about the execution quality these markets demand, especially when it comes to @perps. @OpenBitLab explains:

My $0.02 - as someone who's been equally involved with Hyperliquid and Solana and admires both ecosystems. If I were working at foundation, this is what I'd want to see to tweak things in Solana's favor. 1. Phoenix needs to get rid of that invite code nonsense asap because brother its 2026.. 2. For perpetual exchanges, there are two core aspects that have nothing to do with settlement chain. You need a group of MMs and you need a risk engine. Hyperliquid could bootstrap this fairly well, and the airdrop incentivised MMs. Many of them ended up millionaires and that liquidity went towards HIP-3/HIP4. Solana folks need to stop looking at this as a liquidity constraint and think who are the best MMs and what are the best assets. And no, thinking you don't need to incentivise those MMs doesn't work because the MMs are booking sufficient margins arbing tradfi stocks and currency pairs on Hyperliquid. Hyperliquid launched in a zero competition market. Solana's perp ecosystem is not launching in a blank market. 3. Hyperliquid was consistently early to listing new assets. Often times - that move hurt it because risk assessment is hard (jellyjelly). But it was one of the best places to go long on perps before Binance listed it. Speed of listing new assets was the pitch. It still is - you can trade spacex there before you can trade it on NASDAQ. Phoenix lags (from what I see). compare this with number of assets on solana native perps. 4. Hyperliquid's core culture is built around a full-fledged product that is aesthetic. The attention to detail on Hyperliquid is often absent on many Solana native perps. You need to get off the feeds and open these products on two large monitors and spend a whole sixty minutes on these things and you will see the stark difference. 5. Solana's core value prop is actually in its RWA ecosystem. Instead of battling on crypto-native perps, or going after what Hyperliquid owns today, Solana should probably look towards the 350 assets Ondo supports and enable perps for them. Why? You have a base market where MM's can go back to USDC on, MMs will want to hedge on a perp exchange and Solana has a strong lead here (compared to ETH/L2 ecosystem). You have an ecosystem of wallets that will embed these instruments. You want to bring nasdaq on chain? Brother focus on those assets!! Tokenised compute, commodities, emerging market indices - are all blank spaces. And Hyperliquid does not own those markets today. 6. Hyperliquid dominates user mind-share now because it has done the three things necessary to build a cult in crypto. It built a product that speaks to tradfi (pre-ipo/hip3), it made an incredibly powerful stack (hip3/usdh) and it enriched people in the process. Solana did the same with USDC and fwiw, to a certain extent with meme coins. Trying to battle it out on Hyperliquid's turf is trying to convert a cult. I belong to that cult - unless you have a superior product that has as much - people wont convert over Hyperliquid has an incredibly powerful flywheel going on for it right now in that when tradfi stocks list, it has become the pricing avenue. The last time this happened with a primitive in crypto was with prediction markets - when they were more effective than traditional outlets at pricing election odds. Crypto native approaches to competing with a behemoth whose moat is on risk engine, liquidity, a cult-like userbase and tradfi relevance is fairly weak. Teams on solana should frankly be looking a bit more deeper than the surface. DMs open if you're building on either networks. I think the pie is a lot bigger than what we presume it is on X. We are talking about bringing the world's finances on-chain. Cumulatively these ecosystems are at $80 billion. I think they will be worth $10 trillion in ten years. Too early to be bickering over size of the slice. Focus on the pie.

Morgan Stanley monitors prices on @tradexyz and you are not, anon?
Cerebras just went live with its IPO at $350 $CBRS Thanks to @tradexyz, traders have been accessing CBRS as a pre-IPO perp (IPOP) since May 1 and have been able to capture >90% profit if purchased at the initial listing. This is the largest IPO of 2026, with an offering of $185 and 20x oversubscription. CBRS will soon transition to a standard equity perpetual with external pricing.

@Solana stablecoin growth is only going to increase from here. "Solana has been one of the beneficiaries of this growth. Circulating stablecoin supply on the chain reached $15.96B at the end of April 2026, up 19.3% year-over-year, while stablecoin velocity ran higher than comparable chains such as Ethereum, BNB, and Arbitrum."

The Stablecoin Dominance battle on Solana continues to evolve. Ethena has just launched two massive campaigns with Kamino and Jupiter x Bitwise that loop USDG & USDe with a max APY of 41.3%. The supply cap for USDe on Kamino is 275m whilst Jupiter's Bitwise vault carries a ~100m cap with a total overall market supply of ~216m. If both of these markets are filled to max capacity, this will teleport Ethena from #22 to #7 in Stablecoin Market cap on Solana. USDG in this time has surpassed USD1 to claim the #3 spot with ~9% market share and 1.54b in circulating supply. USDT in the meantime increased its supply by another ~300m keeping its market share steady at 22% compared to two weeks ago.

Jito BAM, ACE and Harmonic improve Solana at the block building level. That’s a major step forward for market structure, but fee auctions and shared blockspace still leave room for MEV and probabilistic execution. We take a complementary path: dedicated execution environment engineered for deterministic outcomes. @OpenBitLab breaks it down:

The best products are built on feedback, not assumptions. We’re looking for perp traders with skin in the game who’ve felt the gaps firsthand and want to help close them by redefining execution on Solana. Short, focused interviews. Direct input into what we’re building + early access to where it goes. If that’s you, drop us a message.

Trevor explains what perp DEXs still need to become more durable businesses. “What’s different about the CME is that it's plugged in the systematic and mechanical flows and passive flows, where Hyperliquid and whatnot are not yet... whoever gets in with the brokers, you get that institutional type of flow.”

Solana is proving that onchain trading can compete with CEXs at scale. But spot is where price is observed. Perps are where price gets made: that’s where leverage concentrates, funding drives positioning, and liquidations move markets. Perps are the real test for infra. Execution, ordering, latency. Everything has to hold under pressure. That’s where the gap still is. Parasol is built to close it.
📊DATA: @Solana DEX spot trading volume remains ahead of major CEXs like Coinbase and Kraken, now ranking among the top platforms just behind Binance and Bybit.

The hidden force behind compounding liquidity? Deterministic ordering: Tighter spreads ➡️ better prices ➡️ more volume ➡️ more makers ➡️ deeper liquidity. And repeat. That’s the flywheel for perps - @OpenBitLab explains

Exchange operators are always looking for liquidity, usually subsidizing 2-3 market makers to come on board and run hybrid maker/taker strategies against each other to create the appearance of volume and post some amount of visible liquidity on the book in exchange for a stipend or rebates. As the market matures those rebates decrease, but can't really ever go away as market making without rebates on leveraged instruments is not generally sustainable under all market conditions, yet markets need liquidity under all market conditions. What's often overlooked is the need to onboard a diverse set of takers, largely retail. A market with just 3-5 bots trading with each other around Binance mid has a verisimilitude of existing, but in fact does not. It's an echo chamber. This is the case for most perps DEXs out there, largely informed flow around the same reference price playing book spoofing and skew sniffing games, trying to catch mean reversion off of each other. It's a negative sum game either for the participants or the exchange depending on incentive structure. In 2010 Easley, Lopez de Prado, and O'Hara built a way to measure this. VPIN, volume-synchronized probability of informed trading, tracks buy/sell imbalance across volume buckets in real time. If you run VPIN on a tail perps DEX book it would read persistently elevated, because the flow is almost entirely informed. You can put a dollar figure on what that uninformed flow is worth. Citadel, Virtu, and Jane Street pay billions for the right to stand on the other side of retail order flow. Hyperliquid took a novel approach to the bootstrap problem via having in-house liquidity with HLP. Lighter took a different path, charging time instead of fees. Zero transaction fees but a 200-300ms delay on standard orders, the delay being the fee, with the vault trading against the delayed flow. This means that even with "zero fees", actual execution costs run 6-12 basis points per trade for standard accounts. Structurally identical to payment for order flow. Both of these venues were able to capture enough retail flow to get the flywheel spinning. So, as an exchange, what are the dimensions of differentiation? Instrument structure, leverage, underlying selection, latency, fee structure, UX. However, if all of the DEXs are trading the same basket of 30 cryptos copying the BitMEX margin system, running perps with the same kappa and iota, using NextJS and Tailwind with vanilla design and copycat product experience, websocket API hosted in Tokyo, then what really is there to differentiate on beyond incentive and fee structure? As mercenary capital rotates to new points programs and incentives, exchanges will live and die by, and only get traction, with proper incentive structures. Like anything there will be a handful that have staying power, and the meta overall is already pretty played out. That handful of venues is where the uninformed flow which makes markets sustainable will trade. For those high frequency trading on these venues there is obviously the latency and modeling race to be played, propagating information between venues and running volume to earn rebates. However, none of these games are really worth playing without uninformed flow present. It may well be, because of all of this, that significant value accrues at the perps frontend layer, enabling cross-DEX basis capture, providing superior execution, curating incentive structures. The exchange becomes the pipe. The frontend owns the user. And the user is the product that makes the market real. In fact, a large share of Hyperliquid's daily active users already trade through third-party frontends rather than the native UI. The top three builders have captured over tens of million in fees via builder codes. On Solana, trading terminals captured the majority of DEX revenue over the past year. This is unsurprising, and mirrors how tradfi played out with platforms like Robinhood. What it means is that owning the frontend experience is hugely valuable. The frontend owns the retail relationship, and the retail relationship is the uninformed flow, and the uninformed flow is what keeps markets healthy.
