More music w. Tolkien connections: complete piano works of #PaulCorfieldGodfrey have been recorded. 3 of the pieces derive from Godfrey's cycles of works based on the mythology of J. R. R. Tolkien. Check out the piano rondo 'Akallabêth'! facebook.com/share/v/1EF7Wa4…

Morning, Petroc and all. Late to the table, as unfortunately my sleep is all over the place at the mo. Very pleased indeed to hear 'Three Cheers for Pooh'. Time to do my stoutness exercises...

The financial cuts have happened, this is not a threat, the money has gone.  We are in a period of transition to our new “model” before the transition funding expires. Please sign everything and get everyone you can think of who might be unaware to sign. 6/?

I have watched the performers walk out on stage (or into the pit) every night and still perform to the high standard that is required of us even though we feel like the world is closing in. I am forever proud of everyone in this company for continuing to soldier on. 5/?

Hundreds of people are involved in any production you see on a professional stage - all working towards the goal of entertaining (or challenging) a patron for a couple of hours.  A cut to the arts is threatening hundreds of people’s lives in a multitude of ways. 4/?

Money given to arts companies is proven to bring more money back into the economy - restaurants, public transport etc. all of which often adds up to more than people have paid for their tickets.  Money to the Arts pays for jobs - People’s livelihoods, pure and simple. 3/?

So, firstly, the fact our company’s funding is cut when we were doing what was required of us is ridiculous.  The arts councils need to seriously rework their remits and add “excellence” back. For more information please see anything that @ElizAthertonSop has been posting. 2/?

Contact you MP/MS - share this and tag them, but now the message is one on a ridiculously short timespan.  Jobs are going, the wellbeing and livelihoods of everyone are being threatened by these unfair cuts. Once it is gone it will not return. 7/7
