Three Korean securities firms have signed with @Optimism since July: DB, KB, and now Meritz.
Each came in through a different door:
→ DB: a regional STO platform with Jeju
→ KB: tokenized MMFs alongside Securitize
→ Meritz: issuing, settling and distributing tokenized Korean securities
Korean brokerages are no longer asking whether to go onchain. They're asking which part of the value chain to own.
Meritz and Optimism first met at a private dinner we hosted on July 21. Three months later to the day, an MOU.
Glad to have been in the room 🇰🇷
Meritz Securities, one of Korea’s largest brokerages, has signed an MOU with @Optimism to explore issuing, settling and distributing tokenized Korean securities on the OP Stack.
That makes three Korean securities firms exploring the OP Stack since July:
→ DB Securities
→ KB Securities
→ Meritz Securities
Ethereum is the home of onchain finance.

Aave is becoming the credit layer for crypto neobanks.
EtherFi Cash moved onto a dedicated Aave V4 instance on @Optimism last week and it already holds $140M in user deposits, with $100M+ of that being EtherFi's own tokens.
✦ For @Ether_Fi, V4 replaces a bespoke lending engine
✦ For @aave, the deal is 20% of instance revenue for 2 years
EtherFi is targeting roughly $500M by the end of 2026.

EtherFi Cash outgrew its own lending infrastructure.
So we're deploying a dedicated @aave V4 instance on @Optimism to power our card's credit backend.
$22M in active borrowing today. $500M lending capacity by 2027.
70K cardholders spending against their crypto without selling it.
Now with the infrastructure to scale.

We've completed a security audit with @Optimism covering Supernode's Interop validation, spanning an initial 9-week review plus a 10-week extension, with final delivery in July 2026.
The engagement combined design review, manual code review, formal verification using Dafny, and a fuzzing campaign, focusing on cross-chain message validation and database consistency under failure.
Optimism's Supernode and Interop Filter extend the OP Stack's interoperability model, managing cross-safe and cross-unsafe verification of messages across L2 chains. Together, they let blocks be classified by safety level based on whether their cross-chain dependencies have been validated, not just their L1 availability.
During the first phase, we produced a formal model of Supernode's core logic in Dafny, defined and proved key invariants (including cross-validity of verified entries and VerifiedDB/LogsDB consistency), and built a fuzzing harness exercising real production code (LogsDB, VerifiedDB, engine rewind path) against a Dafny-derived oracle.
The extension strengthened previously partial invariants to full enforcement, explored an AI-assisted approach to systematically compare the Go implementation against the Dafny spec function-by-function, and expanded fuzzing to cover fault injection and adversarial rewind scenarios.
The audit identified findings of varying severity across both components. Our teams worked side by side throughout the process, with several identified issues fixed during the review.
We're proud to support Optimism in strengthening the security of the OP Stack, and grateful for their close collaboration!

It was a privilege to help bring this conversation together.
Korea's financial institutions are moving beyond exploring blockchain. They're actively discussing how public blockchain infrastructure can support the next generation of financial markets.
Thanks to the @ethereumfndn Policy team, @Optimism , and everyone who joined. Looking forward to building more bridges between Korea and the global Ethereum ecosystem. 🇰🇷
Optimism sat down with the Ethereum Foundation and Korea's financial and policy leaders in Seoul this week, ahead of September's Ethereum flagship conference.
The closed-door meeting, hosted by the @ethereumkoreaio, brought together securities firms, card companies, policy finance institutions, and Korea's Financial Investment Association.

Last year we ported all @Celo features to the OP-Stack and migrated Celo to an L2
One year later, we've migrated all of those features to Rust. And much faster this time
Hats off to the team for a monumental effort
What does it mean for users? Faster transaction processing, higher throughput, and more stable fees under extreme load
It's official: Celo Mainnet is now running op-reth!
Thank you to everyone who migrated ahead of the switch.
Still on op-geth? The release, docs, and migration steps are here 👇

Great to see the momentum continue.
Following last week's MOU announcement in New York, the @Optimism team @kylejenke visited DB Securities today for deeper discussions on tokenization and RWA infrastructure in Korea.
Looking forward to seeing more Korean financial institutions move from exploration to production.
Glad to support these conversations in Korea.
