I appreciate that my note-taking app insists on writing ex-latte contact, referring to officials’ influence in quasi-judicial processes.

I hoped this @EugWklyCamilla retrospective would get into the legacy of field burning in the mid-Willamette Valley. It did not disappoint.
I interviewed one of the family members some years ago and that burned into my mind. Also the book about it was so odd and gripping. Thanks for all your coverage of this disaster! eugeneweekly.com/2012/02/24/…

The aquatics center employees are telling knock-knock jokes.
The radio scanners are always working in the newsroom, but I’m trying to read five years of DEQ documents and someone at a local aquatics center is doing their worst to a cappella the Jeopardy theme song and now I’m here tweeting instead of taking notes when is my deadline why t-

The joys of being an audio producer, finding random archival tape that makes you giggle.

The Democrat-Herald held active shooter training the other day. Aubrey’s story was on my mind after Albany police in a run, hide, fight workshop established Oregon’s arc of of recent mass killings with the Thurston murders.
24 years ago today, a someone made a deliberate@decision that changed my life. I’ve let that decision influence this day year after year. Today, I deliberately chose to spend it w/people I love. Unlike 24 years ago, the impact of this day hasn’t been felt. #Thurstonstrong

I’m still a professional photojournalist, just one who writes extraordinarily long captions. And fortunate to be @dhnews, where I get paid to work with a talented and diverse news team!

Actually shot by @OregonAlex (but put on the internet by Andy, which is why you see his name). Alex was a professional photojournalist before switching to the writing side. We're lucky to have him!
