Average person after watching Rent-a-Girlfriend
This is why I don’t watch My Dress-Up Darling.
The show looked like slop to me from the start.
It’s a generic romance about an average guy who makes cosplay meeting the girl of his dreams, who loves cosplaying her favorite characters.
He falls in love at first sight and starts making cosplay costumes for her until she becomes famous.
After everything he went through to make her costumes, she just used him and tossed him aside at the end, never wanting anything to do with him again.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
In My Dress-Up Darling, Marin does not reject Wakana. He confesses, "the feelings are mutual," and by the end of the series he has married Marin. The image is a meme watermarked @Spextel and does not show the story's outcome.

And there’s literally a guy in the comments saying all these lighting effects are unnecessary and basically implying that flashy compositing = “fake good animation.”
Like… wtf!? 😭
