“Stand at the End”
——————————
By @OrraObserves
Why am I fighting?
Love of country?
Safety of family?
Or to prove I’m worthy?
I’ve met so many on my path,
Faces I’ll always remember.
We’ve borne wrath in battle’s aftermath,
Some gone, others left as embers.
I’ve tried to be there for them,
Helped as many as I could.
Survived, just to feel condemned,
I stood when no one else would.
I stayed until the end,
To say goodbye to a friend.
Cries of the grieving, raw collapse,
My heart cracked with the taps.
The final volley. The final song.
That last farewell.
It demands I stay strong,
Though my soul breaks with the bugle’s dwell.
Each year my friends dwindle in number.
And in my head rings the realization:
“You’ve spent your whole life inviting guests to your own funeral.”
When they fold the flag for me,
Will you stand strong, and see my end?
As I stood for so many,
Will you now stand for me?

Happy Monday! Let’s go dispatch some drivers and bill some loads!
Good Morning y’all!
Thank you so much @japan_nobunaga for highlighting the bravery of these individual fighting men. Their stories deserved to be spread far and wide. Their deeds forever recognized.
A Kevlar combat helmet is designed to protect the head of the Marine wearing it.
On April 14, 2004, twenty-two-year-old U.S. Marine Corporal Jason Dunham ripped his helmet off his own head to save the two Marines standing beside him.
Weeks earlier, Dunham could have gone home to New York when his enlistment ended. Instead, he signed an extension paper so he would not leave his squad behind in Iraq, buying his younger Marines birthday cakes and calling home so their mothers could hear their voices.
While patrolling the dusty streets of Husaybah near the Syrian border, Dunham's squad stopped a white SUV packed with rocket-propelled grenades and rifles after an ambush on a Marine convoy.
When the driver lunged out of the vehicle and grabbed Dunham by the throat, the two men tumbled to the dirt street in hand-to-hand combat. Two of Dunham's Marines rushed in to help their squad leader.
Suddenly, Dunham saw the insurgent release an armed fragmentation grenade right onto the dirt between their feet.
Why could Dunham not throw the grenade away or tell his men to dive behind the Humvee?
Because the insurgent had already held the lever down before dropping it, leaving less than two seconds before detonation, and Dunham's two Marines were standing right over it in the open street. Even worse, a human body alone cannot always contain heavy grenade fragments at point-blank range.
In a fraction of a second, Dunham made a calculation that saved both of his men.
Shouting "No, no, watch his hand!", Dunham ripped his Kevlar helmet off his bare head, slammed the hard ballistic shell directly over the live grenade, and threw his own chest on top of the helmet to hold it down.
The explosion shattered the Kevlar helmet into fragments and mortally wounded Dunham, while both of his fellow Marines survived.
Doctors kept Dunham alive long enough for his mother and father to fly to Bethesda Naval Hospital. When his parents held his hand, the young Marine squeezed his father's fingers once before passing away.
Today, the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Jason Dunham sails the oceans bearing his name.
“Traitor of Love”
By @OrraObserves

Some hearts never know this pain,
A love untouched by duty’s chain…
I envy those who never had to choose,
Who never kissed goodbye and laced their boots.
She begged me stay-but war don’t wait,
I turned away… with love and hate.
Said, “I’ll try,” but I always knew
You can’t promise life when death walks too.
I wasn’t strong-I was just trained,
Marching off, while she remained.
Her touch still burns beneath my skin,
I carry her-but never win.
Steel and grit, they built my wall,
But damn this strength. It made me fall.
She begged for promises I could not give.
A lie to soothe her trembling hands.
Had I not betrayed her heart enough?
Must I crown it with a vow I’d never command?
Every step… another lie,
Couldn’t say the words, I‘ll return..
Love and war don’t bleed the same,
But both leave scars that whisper names…
Traitor of love! Betrayer of union! I left her cryin’
Waved from the dark while inside I’m dyin’.
I wish I’d been weak, I wish I’d stayed,
But strength like mine just walks away.
Traitor of love! Yeah, I’m the one…
Who couldn’t promise the rising sun.
Her trembling hands still haunt my dreams
I walk away, but never leave.
I walk away…
walk away…
away…
But I never leave.
Traitor of love…Betrayer of union…

That is pretty good! I need to try having from shot for a specific art style. I think I kinda did when I had it do 1800 art style/ a long deserted battlefield but soldiers of ghost still lingering. At night with cloudy skies. Being an artillery man- I had it include a cannon.
I was had a poem I wanted to go with this but wasn’t sure how’d I’d superimpose the text over this.
I think it was this one?
Unyielding Spirit
Life is full of strife
Conflict is in the cards.
Ones that dare to fight
Are the ones who will unite.
Be still in the crowd
The real men will never bow.
A man without a will is never tested.
What do you know of ever being bested?
Stand aside today and cry for peace
Life is but a lease.
Payments are in sweat and blood.
We’ll never be ones with our face in the mud.

Will You Be Here When I Wake?
Have you ever had to lie to a child?
Not a simple matter of toys or gifts,
Something not mild,
But of life and death.
Will you be here when I wake?
Boarding a bus to go to places unknown.
How could I convey, for simplicity’s sake?
This is more than for a day, or a week.
I don’t even know if I will ever return home.
So, I lie.
Maybe not when you wake up.
Probably not the next.
But I will be home before you know it.
Oh wow!

Elon just ended the entire debate with Zelensky's own words.
Case closed.

For the fools out there, Zelensky himself posted about using Starlink for offensive drone strikes, which has always been against Starlink’s terms of service:
