A fixed-depth Merkle tree with 2³Ⱐleaves is ~64 GiB if you store all of it, and almost all of that is hashes of empty leaves. I wanted a tree thatās dense, growable and never rewrites itself. š§µ

1/ Today we're releasing Lattice Jolt: a post-quantum version of the Jolt zkVM, built on lattices instead of elliptic curves. It's _faster_ than curve-based Jolt and has the shortest proofs of any post-quantum zkVM ā under 100 KB.

The news today of progress on resolving the NavierāStokes problem, one of mathematicsā great longstanding challenges concerning the equations that govern the flow of fluids, represents a milestone advance in human knowledge. This story began with Navier, Stokes, Leray, and Ladyzhenskaya and has culminated in the recent breakthroughs of Córdoba and MartĆnez-Zoroa, then ā assisted by new technologies ā Alpƶge and Buckmaster, with the final steps taken by OpenAI mathematicians. The purpose of mathematics is human understanding, and this achievement, and the process that led to it, will bear fruit for a long time to come.

Proud to announce ProveKit v1! Devs can build authentication with ZK privacy, running on all user devices.
2 years ago I started this project to show that every usersā phone is capable of ZK proving a passport document, under a minute, no trusted setup, 128bit post quantum secure. Thanks to collaborations with many world class teams, and several breakthroughs, this is now reality! Thank you everyone involved š
ProveKit uses Noir as it's programming language, so try your circuits today!

First Principles Ep. 6 with Shafi Goldwasser
What if you could prove something is true without revealing why itās true? Turing Award winner Shafi Goldwasser tells the origin story of zero-knowledge proofs: how a playful question about playing poker securely over the telephone led her, Silvio Micali, and Charles Rackoff to rethink what a mathematical proof could be.
Goldwasser traces those ideas through interactive proofs, the sum-check protocol, SNARKs, and the systems now used to verify computation and preserve privacy on blockchains.
She also reflects on why breakthrough ideas are often rejected at first, how toy problems can produce foundational theories, and whether AI systems should have to prove their answers.
Hosted by @Tim_Roughgarden with @SuccinctJT
00:00 Intro
03:36 How mental poker inspired zero-knowledge proofs: Proving that something is true without revealing the underlying information
06:30 The simulation paradigm and the meaning of āzero knowledgeā
08:33 Why the original paper was repeatedly rejected
10:33 How interactive proofs became more powerful than conventional proofs
13:36 The road to modern SNARKs
19:02 Why the sum-check protocol is so useful for verifiable computation
25:31 Why many so-called āzk proofsā are not actually zero knowledge
34:06 Why toy examples, playfulness, and narratives can produce deep theory
37:23 The role of rigor and computational assumptions in cryptography
42:44 Applying zero-knowledge proofs to law, evidence, and secret software
45:23 Training AI systems to provide proofs alongside their answers
54:27 Why genuinely new ideas are often difficult for experts to recognize

Multimmit: The New State-of-the-Art for Global, Fast, and Scalable Consensus
For the first time (including DAGs), the fastest path for finality isn't reserved for the leader (or anchor).
All data broadcast concurrently by validators can finalize in 2Ī“ (optimal for 5f+1).

Hide execution latency behind block construction so validation becomes a cache hit.
1 Ggas/sec, 200 ms blocks, on modest hardware is cool.
Replying to @OsirisDjed
The numbers: we raised our alphanet gas limit to 2 Ggas and sustained ~1 G gas/s in 93%-full blocks, while p95 flashblock validation held flat at ~180 ms, inside the same 200 ms cadence. On Sepolia, all load tested near-full 500M-gas blocks: engine_newPayloadV4 latency averaged 0.43 ms with zero cold executions on modest hardware.
Introducing World Chain v2.4.0. Full Block Access Lists, an out-of-protocol sidecar to Flashblocks that enables parallel pre-processing of full blocks, shard by shard, before consensus validates them. Lower hardware requirements for every validator on the network, and stronger decentralization because of it. github.com/worldcoin/world-cā¦
That last number is another v2.4.0 optimization at work: the engine races newPayload validation against the pending flashblock payload it has already executed, so by the time consensus delivers the block, validation is invariantly a cache hit.
